Laguna de Limpiopungo - Embark on an Andean trek around Limpiopungo Lagoon for breathtaking views and wildlife. Capture a panoramic photo of the volcano. After this activity, continue by car to the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center for an exhibition on Cotopaxi’s history and geology.
Cotopaxi Visitors Center - As you explore the exhibits, you’ll discover the captivating history of Cotopaxi, one of the world’s highest active volcanoes, and its importance to local indigenous cultures. - Light wool is ideal and a warm jacket is usually necessary in the highlands after the sunset. Shoes for walking, or good hiking boots, a thick sweater and a jacket. Remember that the higher you are, the colder the weather will be.
