And the bbq grill isnt just a run of the mill grill… it is the FLINTSTONE’S BBQ grill…. rustic as it gets! The food, however, thanks to our instructors, fresh seafood and your new skills, will be amazing! That’s our guarantee.

Sequence:
Our culinary instructor will meet you at the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel, and walk you to Vidigal Beach. Our barbecue grill and kiosk awaits us there.

After nibbling on some Brazilian snacks, making our own caipirinhas followed by making and eating butter cassava and tapioca filled with requeijao cheese , we will use a barbecue grill to make octopus, shrimp and calamari. We will also make grilled whole anchovy.

Our culinary instructor will explain all the techniques and tips for grilling seafood.

All this wonderful Seafood will be eaten with poke-style rice, and Brazilian style vinaigrette.

To finish our beautifully photogenic beachside afternoon Barbecue Cooking Class, we will make a popular Brazilian dessert called Romeo and Juliet, aptly named.

  • Tapioca crepe - Thin crisp Taco made from tapioca filled with soft cheese and veggies… A great “ while we cook” appetizer
  • Pao de Queijo cheese bread - Will bring some free baked pao de queijo, to line up our stomach before we start drinking.
  • Caipirinhas (unlimited) - Learn to make lime caipirinhas, then pineapple caipirinhas. Make and drink as many as you want.
  • Shrimp + veggie stick - Find out what veggies best match with shrimp when made on the barbecue, and what needs to be precooked so that the shrimp doesn’t get rubbery.
  • Octopus - Learn the best technique to make octopus on the barbecue so that it is equally cooked.
  • Sardines - Everyone’s favorite source for Omega 3, 6 and 12! Learn how to make them butterfly style, after deboning.
  • Mussels w/ vinaigrette - Yes, Mussels can be made on the barbecue with a few simple tricks.
  • Butter Cassava - Learn to make cooked cassava with butter and herbs, an ideal carb for just about any protein.
  • Brigadilho (Brazilian fudge) - Yes brigadeiro (Brazil’s favorite dessert) can also be made on the barbecue

Join a class at a “Flintstone’s grill” next to an on-the-sand beach kiosk on Vidigal Beach next to the Sheraton Hotel.
