A charming medieval town filled with historical Baroque architecture, including the Castle now serving as municipal offices, and numerous Churches. The most notable is the Basilica Cathedral, established in the 11th Century, but all are unique.
  • Nardo - Option for a wine tasting tour in the Cellar.
You can opt for an independent wine tasting tour at a prominent local winery (advance booking required).
Various experiences are available, ranging from 3 to 4 glasses of different wines, a small appetizer with taralli and focaccia bread, to a more comprehensive experience with 5 glasses of wine that includes a cold cuts platter.
The wine tasting costs between 30 to 40 euros per person, payable at the winery as per your requirements.

The old city is situated on a limestone island, connected to the mainland by a 16th-century bridge. Here, you’ll have free time to explore the historic center, characterized by narrow streets filled with local handicraft shops, beautiful baroque Churches, and aristocratic Palaces. Notable sites include the Cathedral, a prime example of Baroque architecture in Salento, the 13th-century Castle, and the Greek Fountain, one of the oldest in Italy.

Great day - Had a fantastic day touring went to beautiful village, beach and gallipoli. Had a wonderful time and our driver Roberto was so helpful. Even brought sun chairs and umbrellas with him for us to use on the beach. The wine tasting was excellent, sampled some wines, olive oil and had some wonderful small food. Highly recommended

Lovely relaxed day exploring the coast - A lovely relaxed way to explore the coast and Gallipoli. Roberto was so friendly and tailored the itinerary to suit us and make our day as enjoyable as possible. He even supplied towels, deck chairs and umbrella to avoid Lido charges at each of the beaches we visited! I would highly recommend booking with Roberto!

Amazing experience with an amazing host - We had so much fun with Bob the first tour we had to come back and explore the other side of puglia with him as well. He once again gave us a taste of his extensive knowledge of the region and even booked us a reservation at a local favorite in gallipoli. We were able to stop for pictures along the way and really take in the beauty of the coast. Bob made our experience so memorable, it wasn’t just a tour, it was about making a new friend.

Best of in Europe, and the most flexible tour. - It was an amazing, relaxed private trip. Everything was planned, in a way we wanted, nice stories were told, and we were taken to favourite places by a local who organizes trips from hobby. The only tour to see the west of Puglia. Its is rare that I can give good review on viator and tripadvisor, but it was better than 5 stars.

Roberto is an excellent guide on the trips he does, a thoroughly nice gentleman with superb knowledge of the area. Thanks Bob for two fantastic trips during our stay.

A wonderful private tour of the Ionian Coast and Nardò - Roberto offers a truly remarkable tour of Gallipoli, Nardò, and Santa Maria al Bagno! While his english is very good, he offered to speak in English while I spoke in Italian, so that I could practice my Italian. The pacing of the tour was very nice and relaxed, with Roberto explaining some information about the different places along the way, and then leaving us to walk around each stop by ourselves. Schola Sarmenti was an excellent choice for a cantina in Nardò, we loved our wine tasting- I would go with the Òpra rose because that one was terrific! We also really enjoyed walking around Gallipoli for an hour or so. Since the pacing is somewhat self-guided, if you like one place a lot, you can spend some more time there, much different from bigger tours where everyone meets at an exact spot at a particular time.
