Highlights
  • I Trulli di Alberobello - World Heritage Site - Alberobello, a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1996, is the town in Puglia with the largest number of Trulli. Destination of millions of tourists crowding its narrow streets, Alberobello offers visitor a unique scenario. Particularly striking are the two districts: “Rione Monti” with its local handcrafts shops and “Aia Piccola”, where the most ancient Trulli and little museums are situated.

  • Ostuni - Ostuni is known as the “White City” par excellence. It is situated on the Murge Hills with steep walls and its historic centre, painted only in white, is a proliferation of plans, of ups and downs, of alleys and stairways, of tangled streets that cross arches and squares. On its summit stands the monumental Cathedral, in late Gothic style.

  • Martina Franca - Martina Franca is in the eastern hills of the Murge. It is a melting pot of history and art.Very charming and quaint, its historical centre, with a unique artistic beauty, is presented to the visitor in a spectacular maze of narrow streets, whitewashed houses, charming streets, old churches, valuable Baroque buildings and wrought iron balconies. Among the structures that characterize the Old Town are the Palazzo Ducale, the Palazzo Stabile, the Basilica of San Martino, Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Roma.

Comfortable day out to three stunning places. - We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to these three beautiful towns. Although we knew we could have used local transport to get to all of the places, the convenience of travelling with Stefano meant that we were dropped in a perfect place to make the best of our time in each place. He was full of interesting information which further enhanced our day. The time in each venue was perfect and the drive between them comfortable and direct. We would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Two unmissable cities, Alberobello and Ostuni, in one day - Great day visiting Martina Franca, Alberobello and Ostuni from Lecce. Pick-up was right at the hotel. The highlight for me was Alberobello, a truly unique place. Ostuni was unique and interesting too. The tour was well arranged, the communication before the tour with Stefano wereresponsive and helpful. The guide, Anita, was wonderful. Fun personality and encyclopedic knowledge of the three towns we visited. Using Lecce as a base to explore the region it would not be easy to explore all 3 towns on your own. The Salento Experience tour made it simple and enjoyable.

Amazing time in Puglia - We were a group of 9 people and we decided to visit Puglia in winter. The experience was fabulous as there were very few people around the touristic sights and the pictures you could take without the crowds were fantastic! On the other hand the weather is not that hot like in summer, but it's pleasant for walking and it gives you opportunity to indulge in the atmosphere of the small towns around the coast and the inner part of Puglia without being in a hurry for a shade. We contacted a local tour operator who organised a full day trip from Lecce to Monopoli, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello and Locorotondo in a day. The price was reasonable and we had a bus dedicated to us for the whole day. A local guide Feredica accompanied us - and she was great! We spent more time in Monopoli and Alberobello, while in the other towns we had an hour or less. It was really enough to discover the beauty of the places. I strongly recommend the full day tour from Lecce if you have limited time or you want to stay on the beach during summer time.

Fascinating hill towns. - This was a wonderful trip through beautiful countryside with visits to fascinating towns. Donatella, our guide, was knowledgeable and wonderful. An added benefit of this kind of tour is that the driver can drop you off and pick you up in the center of each historic town. If you drove by yourself you would have to park very far away in most cases.
