Upon arrival at motu Taufarii, guests receive an engaging introduction to the captivating history of the Polynesian black pearl and the techniques of pearl farming. Next, guests board the boat to explore, while snorkeling near a coral garden, strings of oysters in their natural habitat. The oysters are submerged to a depth of 1 meter, and with the team’s guidance, guests can browse the lines of oysters and select their own oyster to harvest! The fortunate may even spot manta rays! Returning to motu Taufarii, the team assists in opening the oysters to reveal the precious black pearls. The experience concludes with a tasting of local fruits and fresh drinks in a stunning natural setting, offering breathtaking views of the lagoon and Mount Otemanu. Each guest departs with the pearl they collected, either in a small sand bottle or a velvet pouch. Finally, everyone is transported back to the meeting point.

Wonderful Experience! - This excursion is not only informative and educational, but it’s so much fun! My husband is not a good swimmer and he was able to get his own pearl! The guide was so friendly and helpful. This experience is not to be missed in Bora Bora!

Beautiful discovery and super nice team! - We learned a lot about the pearl creation process, we went to choose our own oysters (will there be a pearl or not? lol) and snorkel around the pearl farm. Moana and Maunu made this experience memorable! Very fun and playful. They are passionate and it is very appreciative. Thank you for this moment!

Best Excursion in Bora Bora! Pearls! - This was by far the most fun excursion we did on our trip to Bora Bora. The host Manu is hilarious and very informative about the pearl farming process and industry. He’s also fluent in French and English and I’m sure a couple other languages. The tour consisted of a 30 min tutorial on pearl farming which was very interesting then a quick boat ride to the farm where we dove for our oysters and got a 30 minute snorkel in. Then we returned to the beach where he opened up our oysters and revealed our beautiful little pearls. It was a must do if you’re on bora bora!

The tour was educational,... - The tour was educational, without being boring, good short snorkel for all abilities, and fun seeing which oysters had pearls! Great shorter activity for the family!

Find your own Black Pearl! - We booked this excursion to try something new and learn a bit more about the infamous Tahitian Black Pearl. Although we knew it would be educational, our guides Tahi and Manu did a fabulous job of teaching us about the farming process, while adding a fun aspect to it. We started off by learning about the pearl formation process, then were boated out to the water to jump in and choose our own oyster. Upon getting back to land we experienced the pearl extraction process, and got to keep our own pearl! The experience definitely exceeded our expectations and we greatly appreciated the friendly, outgoing personalities of our guides.

Fun excursion in Bora Bora! - This was a fun little excursion! We enjoyed learning about how the pearls are created then went for a short boat ride to snorkel for our own oyster. Then we opened them up and discovered our pearls. Definitely worth it!

Amazing experience - Manu and Moana are very nice and kind! Manu gave a super class about the pearls and we have a lot of fun with him. Moana is a very good sailor. Everything was amazing. Thank you guys 🩵🙏🏼

Pearl Farm Tour is a must do in Bora Bora - Manu and Capt Tahi gave us the most wonderful education about black pearls , how they are cultured and how much work goes into the potential making of a black pearl. Only 50% yield a pearl! I know because I selected poorly and mine did not- but no worries- they found another oyster that had a very nice pearl! I learned a lot!! And had the best time. They take excellent care of you and you will have an amazing experience. Do take this tour - especially before buying any black pearls. They help you understand what to look for, what gives these pearls value and what to beware of.Plus they are just the nicest guys!
