Absolutely incredible! - This excursion was incredible! Not only did we get a lovely cruise along the island by boat, we went to the most adorable little island setup where we did a mini lesson on pearls and oysters and how they come about. Then we jumped back on the boat to the farm area, where we snorkeled to the oyster nets and chose our own oysters. It wasn’t too much of a dive, so don’t let that discourage you, they were just a few feet under water. We took the boat back to the island setup where “Dr. Tahi” did an extraction and we found two beautiful black pearls from our collected oysters. We celebrated with a local beer and a platter of local fruits that they had prepared for us. Tahi and his team were amazing hosts, very hospitable and made us feel like family. I HIGHLY recommend this excursion, you won’t be disappointed. And bonus, you will take home your very own black Polynesian pearl as a keepsake from this lovely memory.

Fun, educational and cultural experience - Awesome experience. Our guide/professor/surgeon Thai taught us all about pearls and how much work goes into harvesting them. It was a very informative experience then we got to dive and pick clams to harvest a pearl from. Definitely highly recommend this experience!

What an amazing and memorable experience! - I never cared for "owning a black pearl" jewelry as kind of the market pushed me away from this type of world but I was always fascinated about it and wanted to learn more and bring a more "personalized one" home as a souvenir - so this trip checked it all off Manu and Tahi pick you up from your hotel via boat and then take you to their farm on the motu - between Intercontinental and Four Season, so just the trip to the motu is a bit of getting something different from the mainland or any other motu you stay so you can get some views. Once at the farm, Tahi does absolutely amazing job switching between English and French to explain about the pearls, the farming process etc. - he is such a positive dude and super nice! Then you go to the water, not a must as you can have him do that for you, to remove your own oysters from the ropes/baskets. Super personal! Then you go back to the motu and they open it in front of you and, if you are lucky, (rate of success I was told is 30% but somehow we all got one) you will get a pearl - I believe you if you open one that is empty they will give you a chance at another one until you get one. I think it was a group of 8 of us and each person was lucky that day - then the polish it and you get it to keep it in that little jar with sand - super cool memory for life and a souvenir for home, it doesn't get more unique and personal! There is some fruits, juices/beer/water also! We spent 2.5 weeks in Society Islands and this was next to Coral Gaden in Taha'a and hike to Mt. Teurafaatiu in Maupiti, my top 3 experience! An absolute must - exactly what Bora Bora needed, something "made here" - I know there are plenty of pearl farms around FP but not everyone gets to visit other islands and I believe this is the only company on Bora Bora doing this type of tours - brilliant idea! We did it on a day of our anniversary so it was a very special thing, one for the books for life!

One of the best excursions in Polynesia! - To leave with a Tahitian pearl from the pearl oyster we ourselves chose in the most beautiful lagoon of Polynesia: it is Magic! We took the boat from the dock of Vaitape (because we stay on the island), Then we picked up other tourists in their motu hotels. We can enjoy a boat ride, the scenery and chat with our guide. Then we were placed on a motu, where our guide presented us with the whole process of obtaining a Tahitian Pearl, from the birth of the oyster, to the harvest. Clear and very interesting explanations. Our guide Tahi answered our questions and knows how to capture our attention. Afterwards, we went by boat to the farm, with diving equipment (mask tube palm) lent by the guide. It’s very fun, and in a safe setting (the guide is with us in the water). We then return to the motu, and Tahi opens our oysters one by one to discover if they contain the famous sesame: the pearl of Tahiti. It’s really fun. We end up with a refreshing snack, with local fruits and cold drinks, admiring our pearl and the landscape. And we were taken back to the Vaitape dock.

Best experience of the cruise! - Tahi was fantastic! He explained the whole pearl process better than the person at the pearl farm in Raiatea. Don't worry if you can't swim he will help you pick an oyster. Miti was super helpful, drove the boat expertly. Just 3 of us so we had a private tour. Well worth the money I'd do this again if I come back to Bora bora.

Great activity and very culturally! - We chose this activity last minute and glad we chose this excursion. The guide was awesome and funny! The captain was great as well. It was lot of information but definitely worth since the guide kept it simple and entertaining. They were helpful in every step of the process of choosing and grafting the black pearl. They offered fruit,drinks, and offered to take our pictures. This is a brand new activity but they definitely knowledgeable.

Visit of the pearl - An activity not to be missed if you want to learn more about black pearl in a simply idyllic setting and hosts at the top! Thanks to Manu and the captain for these unforgettable moments and beautiful pearls in memory Manu does everything possible for you to have a good time and being a bad swimmer I didn't want to do the dive but Manu insisted and accompanied me throughout the dive part and it was great! Best experience in Bora Bora - This was one of the highlights during our stay in Bora Bora. Tahi (our guide) was incredible -- fun, engaging, and informative. My wife and I enjoyed diving for oysters, and we each got a beautiful pearl that we'll make into jewelry that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much!!!
