A fabulous day out! - An amazing day was had today. Lots of different things on offer from hands on activities for the kids and the shows were great. Only suggestion would be not to have the first option making class at the same time as the dragon meet and greet as that created a clash. The staff were friendly and the cost of food was pleasantly very reasonable! I think Kryal Castle is currently Victoria’s most underrated attraction. Thoroughly recommend!

AMAZING! - One of the greatest highlights of our weekend was Kryal Castle. The staff are amazing, making you feel like you're in medieval times with so much to see and do. We enjoyed potion-making, plays, a great playground, donuts, tournaments, and more, having a blast even as adults with our young children. I highly recommend a day trip to Kryal Castle; we spent 5 hours there on a weekend and enjoyed it without the crowds.

Great family experience for young kids - We all had a great time! We went during their winter festival and enjoyed 2 30 minute shows. We had kids aged 5,8, 10 and 12 and all enjoyed being there. We brought our own lunch, snack food so kept costs down. It was like taking a step back in time. Definitely recommend for people with young children. It's like being in an old medieval time and a great experience of something different. We did the axe throwing, sword fighting and paid extra for the archery. We spent about 3.5 hrs there and could probably have stayed longer if it wasn't so cold and rainy. Recommend taking your winter/ski jackets to keep warm if going in winter! Anyone expecting something modern, this isn't for you. Clearly it's intentional everything looks old and rustic.

Great overnight stay - We stayed overnight in connecting castle king/queen rooms 17 and 18. Perfect for a family of 5. We had a gorgeous courtyard, one room with a queen bed and bathroom with shower, and another room with king bed, futon and huge bathroom with a spa bath. Loved the castle doors, tapestries etc with modern amenities. Beds were super comfy, heating worked well and it was very relaxing to have a spa bath on a cold evening. Although the shower was terrible with barely any water pressure and the castle walls must be pretty thin as we were woken early in the morning by the family next door. Buffet continental breakfast was included. It was good. Entry to the castle was also included which when you deducted it off the price of the room made it more reasonable (an expensive treat but not crazy). As we stayed on a Sunday night and the castle is not open Mondays we arrived at 11 on Sunday and enjoyed the attractions before checking in to our room. We liked the jousting and horse things in the main arena but could have done without the dragons. They were a waste of time. It was fun looking through all the shops and rooms. We did axe throwing and knights school. We got potato cakes, dim sims, churros and they were all good and not too expensive. For dinner we drove back into town as there were no options at the castle. On a warmer evening it would be good to bring food or takeaway and sit at the picnic tables at the castle. For me the real highlight was being able to explore the grounds once the castle closed including after dark with our torches and again as the sun rose. It was so cool and something our family will always remember. Highly recommend an overnight stay!

Overpriced and pretty boring - We had high hopes for this place, but were disappointed. This place looks very kitsch and like it has seen better years. The jousting show was okay but it's clear this whole place is aimed more at kids than adults interested in the medieval era. We walked past a reastaurant that was closed for business, so our choice was donuts or the pub food style place. Hot chips or sausage roll. I had the sausage roll, very average and not worth the $9 it cost. The toilets were filthy and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in over a week (see photo). The food is over priced and the entry price is a joke, it's not worth $39.50 per adult.

Disappointed - Underwhelming for $99 (two adults and a student). The only things I enjoyed was the torture museum and the jousting. Food was expensive. A sausage roll and Coke was $9.50 and they didn't have sachets of BBQ sauce so they poured some into a paper cup. If you are under 13 years of age you will enjoy it or have kids then it is worth it. But otherwise save yourself the trip.

Disappointing. - This place is terribly run down, and in serious need of an upgrade. There's not a great deal to see other than a few scant displays that were in very poor repair. There were long queues to purchase a few limited and overpriced food options e.g. donuts and chips. Jousting was underwhelming. The maze had been covered in graffiti. Toilets were filthy. A few tacky shops inside selling plastic swords and tiaras. So sad to see how this place has deteriorated.

0 stars- A Disheartening Experience of Inaccessibility at Kryal Castle - During my recent visit to Kryal Castle, I encountered several significant accessibility issues that negatively impacted my experience. As a person requiring disability access, I found the castle's current setup not only inconvenient but also reminiscent of outdated societal hierarchies. If you cannot do stairs you can't even get to the office to buy a ticket or ask about disabled access, and the phone went unanswered. I was not able to work out how to even get inside. The first issue was the location of the designated disabled parking space, inconveniently situated at the far end of the car park. This posed a considerable challenge for those with mobility issues. The main entrance was not accessible without using stairs, and the only alternative was the 'trader’s entrance', which felt like a secondary, less important route and which meant you missed out on walking through the castle entrance. Once inside the concrete surface is very perilous with many large cracks, joins and uneven surfaces. This so-called disabled access, labelled by staff as 'the trader's entrance', was rough and unpleasant, with large humps, a big drainage channel and proximity to areas with horse manure. It seemed more like an afterthought than a planned route. This path, combined with the inaccessibility of key attractions like the axe throwing which is down steps in the arena area and the dining facilities that also has loose carpet plus a step, created a sense of exclusion and inequality. Moreover, the grandstand, though equipped with a ramp on one side, lacked exit accessibility, trapping wheelchair users in a space that should have been inclusive. Additionally, the Abbey dining area was inaccessible by wheelchair, highlighting the lack of consideration for disabled guests. Likewise, many of the shops have a step to go inside and are very dark inside due to lack of lighting. The castle's website fails to provide detailed accessibility information, reflecting a lack of prioritisation for inclusivity. That is zero prioritisation. This oversight adds to the overall feeling of exclusion for disabled visitors. I urge Kryal Castle to rethink and redesign its accessibility features to truly welcome and include all guests, reflecting society's progress in moving beyond outdated classist structures. The current state of accessibility at the castle not only hinders physical access but also perpetuates a message of lesser importance for those with disabilities. I look forward to seeing changes demonstrating a genuine commitment to accessibility and equality. I simply cannot recommend this venue or activity to anyone because of their treatment of disabled guests and their lack of response to an email highlighting these issues. It is an absolute shame because the traders inside rent those shows and will be affected by the lack of inclusivity offered at the venue.
