It is the main artery of the Ensanche de León we will visit the Alfageme building, the Lubén house or the Chueca Goitia building. -
Plaza de Santo Domingo - Finally, we will return to the Plaza de Santo Domingo, where we will learn about the history of the Oliden, the Goyo house, Pallarés, the old Casino or the Roldán house.
And, finally, we cannot forget the “Vieja Negrilla” one of the most outstanding sculptures of the Ensanche and to which the people of Leon have a special affection.

Armed with a History degree and official tour guide credentials, during this tour, we will delve into the transformative period in our city’s history when the railway arrived, sparking the rise of the bourgeoisie and propelling León into modernity as it transitioned from the 19th to the 21st century. We will explore the revolutionary impact of Gaudí’s work in León and the drastic transformation the city underwent, which appeared frozen in time until the railway’s arrival. Today, we see a current city modelled after Barcelona’s Eixample district, striving to tackle the rapid-paced developments brought on by the 21st century.

Small City Full of History - Leon is a small city in North Central Spain. It has a neat old city center with a large building designed by Gaudi and a beautiful Cathedral filled with stained glass windows. Two rivers run through it and have great walking/biking trails along them. There is a lot of history to be learned, sites to be explored, and food to experience. Day trips can be taken to the nearby Babia y Luna natural park for hiking, and the best steak restaurant in the world is only an hour's drive away!
