Magical Temple Experience - We loved our tour with WestChinaGo and could not have taken it on our own. Lily was extremely helpful and friendly. We got to know her well and she was very easy to talk with as a friend. I was travelling on my own in China with my 3 boys so this tour was a definite highlight for us. We loved staying overnight in the Temple. The feeling was magical. Waking up to drumming and chanting in the early morning made us feel very so peaceful. It was a great experience and I would certainly take it again.

Leshan Buddha , emei Shan above the cloud line - Well arranged tour, it was not rushed as I went in low season , sunday and Monday. time planning was perfect. Guide Fifi has excellent English , pleasant personality and great knowledge of both sites and history. Picked up at my hotel in downtown chendu, train to emei , transfer, I chose to walk up the Mountain up (2hours) rather than cable car ( 2mins) . It was a mix of snowing, and light drizzle . climb has well paved steps all the way up. You can get the rain jackets for your shoes, avoid buying the cheaper disposable 1 use covers if you plan to walk, they will break halfwalk up the mountain. Though worth getting the rubber ones so you don’t soak your feet in the light rain. The Cable car down took 2 mins Can’t see much in the snow. The hotel was a fresh new 4 star hotel, in a newly developed zone with a nice view of the mountain, large clean rooms and hot water. A few restaurants serving good local food 1 minute walk. As there were few guests in the season , breakfast was a custom private freshly cooked delicious meal of about 10 dishes. Rather than self serve Buffett. Hour car transfer to Buddha, I added the extra boat ride, it’s definitely worth while, then a walk around the relic. Transfer to High speed train back to chendu and drop off at the hotel, was back before 5pm. Thanks

Chengdu, Leshan and Er Mei - We booked the tour with Ms. Lily, who is very nice and sympathetic, the same as our driver, Sun Lin. Sun Lin is a friendly, helpful and patient driver. With great working attitude, he always try his very best to ensure both me and my wife have a smooth sailing and enjoyable vacation in Chengdu, Leshan and Er Mei, with no unnecessary time wasted. He also kind enough to go the extra miles to give us some basic introduction on the history and the stories of the places we are visiting, which we found it very useful. Awesome and will definitely the services to friends, relatives and colleagues who want to visit China. We had a good time exploring the Chengdu, Leshan and Er Mei mountain. Very beautiful places. I definitely recommend it! 👍

Fabulous trip to Mt Emei and the giant Leshan Buddha with an exceptional guide and wonderful local cuisine - I booked this guided trip to Emei Mountain and the giant carved Leshan Buddha at the last minute. I decided just a few days before flying to Chengdu to spend four free days in Sichuan in the middle of this trip to China in mid-October. Lily was very helpful in setting up this trip less than two days in advance. I was very fortunate that Eddie was available as a guide. I write very few reviews on Trip Advisor, but I found both Lily and Eddie so terrific that I wanted to be sure to leave comments. I describe the guide Eddie in some detail below. Before going into details, I want to say that I give Lily’s organization WestChinaGo and this tour in particular my highest recommendation. I did the two day version of this tour, beginning in Chengdu. Eddie met me at my hotel, taking me to the station with the high speed train to Emei Shan. The train ride was beautiful, passing through lush countryside and reaching the town of Emeishan in only about 80 minutes. From the station, we took a shuttle bus up winding roads to the base of Mt. Emei; this drive was through a beautiful mountain region, where I hope to be able return for hiking. From the shuttle bus drop off point, we walked up a fairly crowded route to the entrance to the cable car, which takes people most of the way to the Emei Shan summit. Along the walk, we saw a number of monkeys, eager to steal food from the tourists. The crowds at the cable car were the only part of the trip that I wish I have been different, but this is an extremely important Buddhist site, popular with many tourists (note the crowds are worse at holiday times). Once we left the area at the top of the cable car, the crowds thinned out quickly. We visited a series of Buddhist temples, arriving at the Golden Summit, where there are three temples with very impressive statues. In this upper area, there were substantially fewer people. The day was raining lightly and foggy, but the area around the temples was nevertheless beautiful, as were the lush hillsides below the summit. On the second day, we visited a temple in the town of Emeishan, and then after breakfast headed for Leshan to see the giant, 233 foot Buddha, which had been carved into the sandstone rock in the eighth century. The history of this shrine, told by Eddie, is amazing. This represented the major life commitment of the monk Hai Tong, who hoped the Buddha would protect both the local population and ships from the turbulent waters of the Min and Dadu Rivers, which converge below. The hotel where I stayed in Emeishan was simple in design, but lovely, and very comfortable. I wanted to comment specifically on the two meals on the second day at restaurants that had been selected by Lily. Breakfast was at a local spot in Emeishan. Eddie ordered a local dish doufunao specifically for me (I don’t eat meat). I found this dish really delicious, and asked for the name. After visiting the giant Buddha in Leshan, we had lunch in a small nearby fishing village. The outdoor restaurant situated just above the river served delicious fish dishes. I particularly liked the spicy fish stew that Eddie ordered. I had had a number of terrific meals during my 2.5 weeks in China, but these two meals were particularly memorable, and notable because we were eating in restaurants frequented by the local population. Eddie is amazingly attentive, and was very protective of me, the tour customer. I don’t think I’ve ever been as well cared for in any commercial tour. He wanted to make sure that I enjoyed dishes that we ordered and that I was safe. Eddie is also impressively ethical. When I offered him a tip at the end of the trip, an amount at the high-end of what I had been told was normal range, he replied that I didn’t need to give them a tip at all (and so we compromised on a lower amount). The only suggestion I would make for this trip is to bring some warm clothing, as it can get cold on the mountain top, a parka for rain, and good walking/hiking shoes.

AWESOME trip, highly recommended!! - I traveled solo to Sichuan province and wanted to see so many things that I didnt know where to start or how to do it as I do not speak chinese; I contacted Lily and she suggested this tour plus some other trips around Chengdu city. Sharleen came along with me throughout my stay and she was absolutly perfect; I couldn´t have done it without her. Very happy to have met her; great conversation, always helpful and good knowledge of the history of the places Specifically this tour was amazing, it was a very foggy day and it was rainning all day long, but the walk to the top of the mountain with its splendid temple was worth it. Leshan Buddah its breathtaking, unfortunately it was under construction, but I could admired it´s head and walk around the area; we had a delicious lunch at the fish village together with our driver, whom I have to say is also a very nice person If you are travelling there, I highly recommend booking a tour with Lily!!

Magnificent - Due to poor weather conditions we could not see the magnificent figure clearly, but it is immense. The temple is beautiful, as most of them are. It is quite a climb up to the temple even after taking the cable car. If you are short of time, it is recommended that you take the cable car. We had taken a bus from Emeishan. The price of the ticket included the cost of the cable car and of the bus to the lower hills. The drive is beautiful throughout with the road running along side the river. One can see a lot of Tea gardens on the way to the lower hills. We did come across some pretty birds but could not see the famous Macaques who had gone into hiding due to the constant rain.

A superb trip with Lily! - Lily was my private tour guide. I cannot say enough good things about her. Reasonably fluent in English, Lily took care of my needs, was flexible in our itineraries, and making sure I had a wonderful time. She was punctual meeting me at the hotel. Throughout the trip, she would teach and inform me about local Chinese culture. The highlight of my trip was being at the summit of Emei, with a breathtaking view overlooking the mountains amidst crisp air. It was a breath of fresh air after we had hiked for more than 30 mins on a snowy day, after getting out of the cable car. Luckily it wasn't cloudy, making the view all the more spectacular. Even if you are not a Buddhist, you can still admire and marvel at the statue and monastery atop the mountion, 3,000 ft above sea level. Travelling by speed train was comfortable and fast. A 3 -4 star hotel, the accomodation that night was fantastic and quiet, only 200 meters from Baoguo temple. The next day she took me to Leshan giant Buddha, followed by a nice lunch by the river and some hiking, before the driver picked us up to the speed train station, back to Chengdu. In the city of Leshan, such a surprise it was I got to paint Chinese calligraphy in addition to strolling around that city in a sunny afternoon. Yes, you are paying extra for the private tour, which is worth every penny! I've always opted for quality over quantity. In summary, here is what you'll get using Lily's service: 1. A new friend to accompany you who is knowledgeable in her field 2. A customizable trip 3. Someone who genuinely cares about your total experience during the trip
