• Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo) - Begin your day with a morning meet-up in the lobby of your Chengdu Downtown hotel, where you’ll be greeted by your friendly and knowledgeable personal guide. You’ll then be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Leshan Giant Buddha (approximately 2.5 hours). Relax during the journey and take in the beautiful countryside scenery.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the construction of the Leshan Buddha began in 713 during the Tang Dynasty and was completed in 803, taking over 90 years to carve. Thousands of workers dedicated their efforts and wisdom to this project. The Giant Buddha, the largest carved stone Buddha in the world, has been celebrated in poetry, song, and story.

Follow your tour guide to explore the entire area and view the Buddha from various perspectives.

• Lingyun Temple - Your first stop is Lingyun Temple, located behind the Grand Buddha’s head. Marvel at the intricate construction of the Buddha’s coiled hair, composed of around 1,020 twisted buns. Inside, admire the detailed sculptures and wall designs of the temple. Enjoy panoramic views of the three rivers converging below.

Next, follow your guide on a 30-minute walk down the left side of the Grand Buddha. At the bottom, be awed by the 233-foot (71-meter) height of the world’s largest carved Buddha and capture stunning photographs of this sacred site.

• Wuyou Temple - Next, explore the right side of the Buddha to visit Wuyou Temple, which houses numerous terra-cotta sculptures and calligraphic paintings.

Stroll around the temple with your guide and learn more about Buddhism.

If the line to Wuyou Temple is too long, you will take a river cruise for a panoramic view of the Giant Buddha instead.

Afterwards, head to Huanglongxi Old Town (a 50-minute drive).

• Huanglongxi Ancient Town - Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious homemade lunch at a local farmhouse. Then, spend some leisure time experiencing rural life in Huanglongxi Ancient Town.

With over 1,700 years of history, Huanglongxi Ancient Town retains its rustic charm with ancient buildings and old folklore customs. It features ancient cultures of water, Buddhism, and tea, as well as ecological farming culture integrated with colorful folklore, screen, and cooking cultures. As a national film and television photography base, it is also known as Film City and Chinese Hollywood. Additionally, it was historically known as The Home of Tea and The Ancient Tea Horse Road due to its long history of tea cultivation.

• Huanglongxi Bridge - Follow your tour guide to explore the ancient town, which retains its Qing Dynasty layout: 7 streets and 9 alleys with 76 Western Sichuan-style houses scattered throughout. Visit three temples on the Main Street and admire the over 1,000-year-old banyan trees in the old town.
• Gulong Temple - While strolling around the town, you can participate in various activities at your own expense, such as dressing in traditional costumes and taking pictures by the stream, tasting various snacks like One-strand-noodle, Sesame Pudding, Crisp Pork Legs, Yellow Catfish, and Pearl Tofu Pudding, and shopping for unique souvenirs at the market. Your guide will provide tips on how to negotiate prices.

After your enjoyable tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Chengdu.
