- Kongens gate - After the initial meal, the tour continues with an engaging walk through the city tunnel. Participants will be entertained with captivating stories about Ålesund’s rich history and the intriguing lives of its residents. The journey proceeds to explore Kongensgate (King Street) with a brief stop at the charming Pavilion.
The Pavilion provides a magnificent panoramic view of the city’s harbor, offering an opportunity to admire the picturesque Art Nouveau architecture and explore delightful local shops. As the tour continues along the harbor’s edge, guests will be introduced to some delicious local delicacies.
- Stuen AS - The next stop is at Stuen, a well-known local diner cafe that has been serving patrons for over 60 years! It’s an excellent spot for a quick meal or a leisurely hangout. Guests will have the opportunity to taste “Svinemør,” a local sausage.
- Brosundet i Alesund - Brosundet is celebrated as Ålesund’s most iconic photography location, and memorable moments will be captured here. The tour will also guide guests to the perfect vantage point. In this beautiful setting, more local meals will be savored.
- Molja Lighthouse - The adventure concludes with a visit to Thon Hotel, where guests can enjoy the local dessert, “Svele.”

Fabulous Food - We had a fabulous food tour. Our guide have us a wonderful introduction to the food, history and anecdotes of Alesund. Wonderful tastes accompanied by interesting stories and tales.

A must do tour! - This was such a great tour. Rignor (sorry if now spelt quite right) our guide was excellent. She explained the history of the town so well. The different foods and places we went to were fantastic. Highly recommend this tour!

Perfect combination of guided city tour and culinary delights - We were completely satisfied. We had a German speaking guide who presented us with 5 culinary Unpacked from Norway. She shone with a lot of general knowledge and could answer every question. The food and venues were great. We tasted and experienced a lot. Thank you for this insight into Norwegian cuisine.

Excellent tour guide Lorena - Lorena was an excellent tour guide. She shared history and tidbits of information about Alesund along with describing the foods we ate. Her English was great and very easy to understand. She made our rainy day tour in Alesund a lot of fun.

Delicious food a good walk thru Alesund - Found meeting point easily, meeting Rigmor at the given time. Unfortunately it was only husband and I, though we were pleased the food tour went ahead. Rigmor was very knowledgeable of the history of Alesund and of the restaurants and the food we were eating. It was easy to make our way from one eating place to the next. The food was absolutely delicious and in the end, plentiful. It is predominantly fish based. We toured on a rainy day but this did not distract from a fantastic tour.

A lovely experience! Worth it! - Karoline was our guide and she was great. We learned so much and enjoyed the food; and there was plenty! I would repeat this tour again without question!

Food Walk Tour - We did the Food all Tour on a ships port day. We met our guide Rigmor at a convenient meeting spot. We went to 5 different restaurants, all with an interesting back story. Rigmor our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and good fun. We had a good food sample at each place and the food in all was delicious. We would highly recommend this tour and guide.

Nice becoming-known-trip in the centre of Ålesund. - Good food and guide with great heart and local connection to Ålesund. Recommended, even for Norwegians although there are well-known dishes!

Mixed Feelings - We feel bad to say we have mixed feelings about this tour. The good aspects - we had a small group which was more manageable. We had 5 different food tastings, 4 savory and 1 sweet. The food tastings were all excellent and well-presented. We especially liked the last one in an antique store where we had a lovely local pastry called a turtle along with some tea. It was also good to see the different areas of the town as we walked. The not-so-good aspects were - our guide was very soft spoken and seemed a bit out of her element. She mentioned it was only her 2nd time doing the tour and we believe she meant well, but just didn't have it together enough. We didn't feel we learned as much about the town or Icelandic food as we would have wanted. She seemed very shy and it was hard to hear her. She tended to speak to different people on the tour in a small conversation, but didn't share it with the rest of us. If someone asked a question, she didn't repeat it so we could all hear it. Just basic tour guide organization was missing. She kept asking how she was doing, but after awhile, we felt bad about being too critical with her. She left us rather abruptly at the end of the tour like she was in a hurry to get somewhere. She didn't even give any other recommendations or her favorite aspects of the town. I think there were many details she could have handled differently. For example, there was no real introduction as to how the tour would flow, and no great "transition" statements to keep it light and conversational along the way. It was as if she just thought of things as she went. That being said, we want to support small businesses and we would still recommend you go on this tour if you like to taste foods. Just don't take the tour if you are more into the food "culture" info.
