A wonderful walk - We would highly recommend a tour with these guys. We booked last minute, but the communication was excellent and pick up was right on time. Our guide was excellent - very knowledgable and funny. The walk is beautiful - and reminded us of how wonderful this island is. After the walk we had coffee and fabulous local cakes in a village cafe before a quick visit to the glass viewing platform (which was shrouded in mist on our last visit, so it was great to see the actual view). Highly recommended and will book again.

Highly recommended - The rote of the levada tour is scenic with lots to see, and gives you a flavour of levada walks even if you have only half a day available. It takes about 20 minutes for the van to drop you off at the starting point of the levada walk, the ride itself was very nice with panoramic views over Funchal. Our tour guide (a lady) was very kind and answered all my questions about the history and society of Madeira.

Fabulous walk - Serrad’Agua - Levada do Norte. - What a fabulous way to spend a morning! This was our first levada walk and we weren’t disappointed. Our guide Alvaro was professional, knowledgable, safety conscious, highly experienced and very, very entertaining! The pace was brisk but comfortable with stops to point out places, plants, people and things of interest. The walk was from A to B so we didn’t have to retrace our steps, and the minibus took us to a great cafe after the walk before heading home. I would highly recommend this company.

Lovely, easy levada trip - Great to experience a completely different side of Madeira than the hotel area west of Funchal - in the company of a charming, well-informed guide. This company can be highly recommended.

Great Levada experience - It was an easy walk, following a part of the Levada do Norte, with beautiful views and nice eucalyptus smells. Our lovely guide Yulya was very knowledgeable of the plants and flowers and our driver Mr. Alvaro entertained us with his jokes. We enjoyed the walk very much and at the walk ended with a coffee in Campanario. We highly recommend this walk for people that are afraid of heights or cannot walk a far end.

Fun and informative tour along the Levadas - Our tour along the Levadas was not only very entertaining, but also very informative thanks to ALVARO. We learned a lot about the flora and fauna and the people of the island. Alvaro knows his way around and you can tell he loves nature. He not only explained, but also made us smell and feel nature. The hiking route is also easy for the inexperienced and Alvaro points out all danger areas. This hike is a must as a visitor to Madeira. Thank you Alvaro!

MADEIRA, MAGICAL AND POWERFUL - We stayed in Madeira for a week. We stayed at Quinta Splendida, Caniço. Excellent location (5 km from Funchal) in a large, lush garden with ocean view. The suite is spacious, a little dated in terms of furnishings. From here, we easily moved around the island by car. Pay attention to the roads and navigator directions, which are often unreliable. Always use the Via Rapida which goes from the airport to Funchal and beyond. The seaside resorts are beautiful but the mountain ones are superb. Not to be missed: Monte Palace, a spectacular Japanese-style botanical garden that is worth a visit of over two hours; the Posto Florestal do Fanal, a magical and enchanted place; the Parque Florestal das Queimadas and the village of Santana. For the more physically fit, excursions of all kinds, even to Ponta de São Lourenço... easy but exciting all the same, the Cabo do Girão... An unforgettable and beautiful holiday before returning to the Algarve, where I have been living with my wife for 6 years now... PS: the only flaw, the cuisine which, as in the Algarve, leaves much to be desired even in the most accredited Italian restaurants such as Villa Cipriani in Funchal (wonderful view of the ocean, little respect for the quality of the dishes offered )... In summary, I would give this island a solid 8... but if you love beaches, you won't find any here: there are only 2, very small ones, with sand imported from Morocco, everything else, rock and stones of volcanic origin... perhaps, with a couple of hours by ferry, you can get to Porto Santo where they tell me there is a long beach with very fine sand... but we didn't go there because we certainly don't have any shortage of it in the Algarve sea life...
