A Canvas of Freedom

Barcelona, a city that has always been a muse for artists, beckoned me with an invitation to a painting party that promised to unleash creativity without boundaries. As someone who has always been enamored by the world of design and couture, the idea of painting without rules was both thrilling and liberating. The venue, an industrial warehouse in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, was a perfect setting for this artistic escapade. The raw, unpolished charm of the space resonated with the idea of creating art from intuition, a concept that I was eager to explore.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the vibrant energy of fellow participants, all eager to dive into the world of acrylics. The facilitators, Mireia Cifuentes and Bel Mur, introduced us to the concept of painting from intuition, encouraging us to let go of our inhibitions and embrace spontaneity. As we donned our aprons and picked up our brushes, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation.

The first session was an individual free painting exercise, where we were encouraged to let our creativity flow without any constraints. The freedom to express myself on canvas, without the fear of judgment, was exhilarating. The colors danced across the canvas, each stroke a reflection of my inner thoughts and emotions. It was a liberating experience, one that reminded me of the unbridled creativity I often witness on the runways of Paris and Milan.

As the session progressed, we took a break to enjoy some snacks and soft drinks, a perfect opportunity to exchange impressions and connect with fellow artists. The conversations were as colorful as the paintings themselves, each participant sharing their unique perspective and inspiration. The second session was a collaborative painting exercise, where we worked on large canvases, either individually or in groups. This was a chance to explore the dynamics of working with others, blending our ideas and styles to create something truly unique. The process was both challenging and rewarding, as we navigated the delicate balance between individual expression and collective creation.
