Great way to see several aspects of the Park. - Our guide Chris was a wealth of knowledge about all the plants and animals in the Park. Lots we would have missed on the self guided option.

Excellent Experience - We were a group of 9 people ages 7 and up. Everyone loved it, our tour guide was amazing, lunch was delicious and the hot springs were a great way to end the day. Wear shoes that can get wet and towels are provided at the springs.

Our 5th anniversary! Pura vida - We enjoyed the hike, our guide gave us a lot of history and information on the forest and its animals. He was able to locate a bunch of spider monkeys swinging through the forest which was amazing! The waterfall was beautiful and very cold and yet somehow that didn’t matter because of how beautiful it was. Th emus baths were very relaxing and made our skin so soft that we put it on twice. We Al so enjoyed the lunch buffet that was provided.

Impromptu Excursion - Johnny B Good was our guide and he was very good, pointing out spider monkeys, boa constrictors and birds. The waterfall was beautiful, although there is no changing area near the falls, as listed. The mud pots were interesting, along with the steam pots. Lunch at the hotel was very tasty, serving local fare. All in all a very worthwhile excursion.

Do this!!! - Great adventure! It was amazing to swim in cold water by a waterfall after 1.5 h hike in the national park. Hot springs and mud were awesome too! We spent there around 2 hours. Lunch was tasty, and the service in the restaurant was excellent. Entrance fee to a national park is not included (we paid ~34 USD for 2 people).

MUST DO ACTIVITY - This was such an amazing experience. Our guide, Johnny was so attentive and nice. It was exciting, informative and an easy walk (with a few stairs). We got to swim in a waterfall. My kids loved it as did we. This is a must do if in this part of the country.

Varied, worth seeing tour, but only with a good guide - The tour itself was actually very varied. Horseback riding to the national park, hiking in the volcanic area with bubbling water and mud holes, then to the waterfall and finally to the hot springs. There were only two of us on the tour, with Brayan, who didn't speak or understand any English other than "wait", right and left and so he trudged along more or less listlessly without any explanations, mostly busy with his cell phone. The tour description didn't make it clear that entry to the park was not included and that there was no lunch included and there was no opportunity to buy anything other than chips (and that was only at the end at the springs). Especially because the combination tours have a big advertisement saying "Free lunch included"... but probably not on ours.

Gave up - Very confusing and frustrating. We were late due to the silly wristband and went on a goose chase to get it. Didn't go on the hike and everyone in the group was hungry and tired.

Exhausting! - The hike in Rincón de La Vieja was 2 hours of extremely challenging hiking. Lots of stairs up & down. Our guide Johnny seemed to want to just get finished & was not attentive to one in our group who was having trouble keeping up. Many of the trails to the Fumeroles, Mud Pot, etc. were in & out on the same trail so he could have offered for anyone who was getting tired to wait there at the start of the trail. Also, left us to go to the hot springs on our own. No swimming under the waterfall either. This tour says it’s for 0-99 years but to do the hike portion you have to be in good shape!!
