Day 01: Welcome to Lima, City of Kings and the Larco Museum of Cultures
Lima - Embark on an exclusive and immersive tour of Lima’s Historical Center, starting with the Convent of Santo Domingo, a cornerstone of the city’s foundation. Visit the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, the oldest university in the Americas, featuring the country’s oldest choir stalls and a library with 25,000 books, including some from the 15th century. The remains of notable saints lie here as well. Continue through the Plaza Mayor, exploring the Government Palace, Municipality, and the Cathedral, a historical gem of colonial Lima. The tour concludes at the Larco Museum, showcasing ancient Peruvian cultures through gold artifacts, textiles, and ceramics, offering insight into Peru’s historical worldview.
Day 2: Cusco, Capital of the Inca Empire
Cusco - In the afternoon, enjoy an exclusive stroll through the city, starting with a visit to the Plaza de San Cristóbal (San Cristobal Square) to take in a panoramic view of the city. Afterwards, visit the San Pedro Market to experience local flavors and learn about regional products in this comprehensive market that supplies the entire city. Later, the Qorikancha Temple will welcome visitors with its splendor and magnificence, with walls that were once covered in gold. From San Blas, the artisans’ neighborhood, walk down Hatun Rumiyoc street, passing the palace of Inca Roca, now the Archbishop’s Palace, and take time to admire the world-famous Twelve Angled Stone. Continue to the Plaza de Armas to visit The Cathedral, which houses colonial works of incredible value.
Day 03: Inca Village of Chinchero, Terraces of Moray and the Inca Village of Ollantaytambo
Cusco - Visit the most outstanding places in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Depart towards the Village of Chinchero, the most typical and colorful village in the Sacred Valley, famous for its weaving women. Make a short stop at a textile center to appreciate ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning alpaca wool. After visiting the Inca plaza with its beautiful colonial church, continue towards Moray, a stunning Inca archaeological site made up of concentric agricultural terraces that served as a lab to recreate microclimates. Enjoy lunch. Later, visit the last living village of the Incas, Ollantaytambo, including the Temple of the Ten Windows, the Bath of the Princess, and the Sun Temple. Capture postcard-worthy pictures from the heights of Ollantaytambo to close this magical day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Lodging in the area.
Day 04: Machu Picchu, the Lost City
Machu Picchu - The much-awaited day to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Board the train at Ollantaytambo station and depart on the selected train. Arrive at the Machu Picchu station and receive assistance from our staff to board the bus that will ascend a winding road, offering a spectacular view of the Urubamba River, which forms a deep canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will greet visitors with its incredible terraces, staircases, ceremonial sites, and urban areas. The entire place exudes energy. Enjoy lunch. At the coordinated time, return by train and transfer to the hotel in Cusco. Lodging.
Day 05: Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman
Sacsayhuaman - In the morning, leave behind the crowds to visit Sacsayhuaman, an impressive citadel full of colossal constructions surrounded by beautiful landscapes in total harmony with the environment. Afterwards, continue to the Inca adoratory of Q’enqo, with its surprising altar for sacrifices embedded in the internal part of its rocky formation. Finally, arrive at the Puca Pucará lookout and Tambomachay, a monument of notable architectural excellence considered one of the pillars of the Andean worldview. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the city or engage in additional activities. The included admissions passport grants access to other points of interest not visited on the tour.
