Pre Incan Archaeological Site and Museum - Very interesting visit to the partially excavated archaeological site of Pachacamac. The museum was particularly interesting and informative. Well worth a visit, including the views of the surrounding areas from the Temple of the Sun. Edwin was our tour guide and he was excellent!

Pachacamac for the history lover - Guide was Mila Campos, a great guide. we began with a short stop in the Barranca District then on to Pachacamac which is a huge mult-acre site. You begin a museum to view artifacts and tapestries, then you head out to see the ancient walls. At one point you see a step pyramid that had ramps leading from the ground to the top. Another section was an Incan Train, where one direction headed north towards Columbia and the other direction was south towards Chile. Then you go to another section on a hill and eventually you go up enough steps, turn a corner and there is the ocean. As you walk further you see an estate with its own bullring, and further on you overlook a polo field. If you love history, you will enjoy this tour.

An experience that you can not miss - If you want to know the history of pre Inca and after Inca you should take that tour! It is a private tour and the driver and the tour guide are very good! The tour guide knows pretty well the history! Everything was included and that is why it seems expensive but according to me it is worth it!

Good but could be better - The Oracle of Pachacámac is a truly impressive archaeological site and a must-see! Overall, this tour was good but could have a few improvements. Positives were that you got picked up and dropped off at your hotel in a small car which is quick and efficient for navigating the busy streets of Lima. Our guide seemed to have some knowledge of the ruins but we had read/heard some information that was contradicting. However, that is normal with any tours as so much information regarding ancient history is open to interpretation and personal beliefs! We were also driven to each of the three temples which can be a pro and con I supposed. There are some interesting sights/building that you will drive by. It would be nice to take a moment to appreciate these smaller buildings but it is not doable with the time slot. That leads into my cons. The tour felt pretty rushed overall. Despite the Oracle of Pachacámac being the main draw for this tour (we had actually booked this tour thinking it was the only sight we would see), you make two stops before arriving at the final destination. Both my partner and I could have done without these stops. The fish market was somewhat interesting but I would not have opted to go there if it was up to myself. We also stopped at. Lookout point, I forgot the significance of the spot but it was nothing overly special. We would rather have spent that extra time at Pachacámac. We were basically rushed through the museum/intro with no time to read the signs or look at artifacts. We got a very brief breakdown of highlights but I would have like to have looked around. We also were walked through the temples at a fairly quick pace, little opportunity to stop for pictures and take it all in. Overall, this tour is just okay. If we were to do it again, we would probably just hire a taxi driver by the hour and go through the site at our own pace. It appeared that the site offers guided tours so I would look at investing in one of those instead!
