One of the best museums in Lima - The Larco Museum, located in Lima, is one of the best museums in Peru and a world reference in pre-Columbian archaeology. It is notable for housing the largest collection of Peruvian ceramics, with more than 45,000 pieces that show the diversity and richness of pre-Inca cultures, such as Moche, Nazca and Chimu. Its famous erotic ceramic room is one of a kind, exploring the ancestral worldview on sexuality. In addition, it exhibits textiles, jewelry and gold and silver objects. Located in a beautiful viceregal house surrounded by gardens, it offers an unforgettable cultural and visual experience.

Either Way Worth Your While - Skipping the line is definitely worth your while as the museum can get busy pretty early on. I manged to get there first before they opened and anyone else and it still made getting in as easy as possible.

Imperdivel - It is very rich in local culture, with a lot of history, a lot of art, many extravagant and extraordinary pieces. Located in a beautiful building, easy to access, very flourishing and well cared for. I also visited the erotic gallery and made a reservation for lunch at the restaurant, which is very worth it, for the service, location and food.

Larco Museum is a Must-See! - The Larco Museum in Lima, Peru, is a must-visit for history and art enthusiasts. Housed in an 18th-century vice-royal building, it offers a fascinating journey through 5,000 years of pre-Columbian history with its extensive collection of artifacts, including ceramics, textiles, and gold and silver pieces. One of the museum's highlights is its renowned collection of erotic pottery, providing a rare glimpse into the intimate aspects of ancient Peruvian life. The museum also features a well-preserved mummy and a vast array of ceremonial vessels, illustrating the rich cultural heritage of the region. The lush gardens and charming café add to the overall experience, making it a perfect spot to relax and reflect. The museum is located in a secure area, with friendly security and staff to help you find the entrance. At the entrance, the staff member who assisted me was not familiar with Viator e-tickets, so another person had to jump in to assist. Also, I had a small backpack that they wouldn’t allow me to take in, so I had to remove a few things to keep on my person during the tour. They secured my bag in a room and gave me a claim number to retrieve it after my self-guided tour. The erotic section of the museum is located on the first floor, next to the courtyard and underneath the restaurant. I wouldn’t have known about this area of the museum complex had I not wandered around checking out the grounds. It would be helpful in the future if the museum staff would point this out to tourists as they check into the main museum. Overall, my Larco Museum experience was definitely near the top of my favorites list for my 9-day stay in Lima. It needs to be a must-see if you’re in town.

Very nice and a complete representation of the culture - It is a very nice museum, very complete and with a clear explanation of the history and indigenous culture of Peru. Exhibits are perfectly executed, explanations in several languages. It is a tour where you can go at your own pace or do it with a Guide. The house where the museum is is beautiful, with beautiful gardens and a very nice restaurant.

Wonderful - One of the best museums in the world to appreciate the art of ceramics. Apart from the house that houses the museum being wonderful, the collection is majestic especially if we take into account the age of most pieces. Despite being out of the center is worth a visit!!!
