PUKANA SURF is one of the first surf schools in Peru. Our PERU, is a country of millenary tradition on the waves, from the pre-Inca cultures, the ancient Peruvians demonstrate how they had fun with the waves. PUKANA SURF is a experience you should try, our purpose is to show the world the riches of our coastline.

Highlights
- Cto. de Playas 5 - The first 30 minutes of class is a basic explanation and simulation of how to paddle and stand up on the board, plus a small stretch session to avoid cramps. The next hour of class students enter the sea with teachers. Most students stand up within the first class!
All classes include all the necessary equipment. Everyone is given a wetsuit, boots (aqua shoes) and of course a special surfboard to learn. We are available all year around and have classes every 2 hours starting at 6:30AM, 8AM, 10AM, 12PM, 2PM and 4PM.

After going down stairs, you can see my pick up truck on the shores of Playa Makaha. Pukana surf is right in the middle of the beach, in front of "Terrazas" tennis club. For your safety, please don't trust the people at the entrance of the beach.

Amazing Surf Lesson - I had an amazing lesson with Herman, a world champion surfer and the perfect teacher. He was so joyful and upbeat and made the lesson sooo fun.

Great fun! - Lots of fun with a very supportive and informative surf teacher. My teenagers had a great time. Didn’t realize they would watch our belongings or I would have gone as well!

Surf trip - The lesson was very fun and our guide was very nice and patient! We had a little trouble finding the right spot but once we got there everyone was very accommodating and ready to help.

Diving right in for a Peru adventure in Lima! - Was able to pay online in advance so I could leave belongings at home, they offered a pick-up from my stay, all the gear I needed (surfboard, wetsuit, booties for the rocky beach, and most importantly a great instructor - Jorge). Communicated throughout the process and also enjoyed assistance from Hector, Aaron, and Javier for the transfer and gearing up. Definitely made my first day in Peru perfect with this fun way to dive right into a new place and adventure. Highly recommend! I was up and riding baby waves in no time.

"Excellent Instructors Who Instill Surf Confidence" - Pukana Surf School offers exceptional instructors who build confidence from day one. Both my children and I felt at ease, thanks to their patient and encouraging approach. By the end of their first lesson, my children were already catching waves and feeling accomplished. As an intermediate surfer, the instructors at Pukana Surf School helped me refine my pop-up technique, significantly improving my surfing skills.

Wonderful experience - We had such a great time. The instructors are wonderful. They were super great once we hit the water and helped you find just the right wave. They were really great with my younger kids, who had so much fun learning to surf . I would totally do it again.

Super professional instructor (Jorge) - I had a class with Jorge, and cannot recommend him enough. He was very attentive, engaged, he articulated everything very clearly, made sure I was safe on water. As someone not too good with balance, and with drowning experience in choppy water - I’ve managed to be comfortable and to ride every single wave I took at a first go.

Great first surfing experience - We had a great time. The teacher was very friendly, spoke english well, and had us all standing on waves by the end! Our stuff was able to be stored in a vehicle during the lesson which had a person watching over it. They had a person on shore fly a drone during the lesson and took some videos of us surfing for no extra charge (they air dropped them to us after). They provided the surf boards and wet suits. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because no water shoes were provided and the beach was incredibly rocky which made it very painful to get in and out of the water.
