Additional Information

Explore the ancient Roman baths and immerse yourself in the allure of its showpiece, the Greco-Roman theatre – a venue that continues to host concerts. The exquisite mosaics of the trio of unearthed residences known as the homes of Eustolius, the Gladiators, and Achilles, maintain their initial grandeur. Next, comes the historic 15th-century Kolossi Castle. This legendary fortress, created by the Crusaders, is currently nestled amidst vibrant flora.

We’ll guide you to the picturesque Omodos, nestled in the mountains. Here, you’ll relish a meal at a local family-owned taverna and have leisure time to meander through the slim cobblestone streets surrounded by Byzantine architecture. It’s a personal favourite village for Eva, who gushes, ‘The allure of the stone dwellings, the serenity, and tranquility. It’s like it’s been carved out of a fairy tale. I relish the opportunity to stroll into one of the local cafes and observe residents engaging in cerebral debates, political disputes, and indulging in some juicy gossip.’ Additionally, there’s a tour of the winery, where you’ll discover the rich history of the sweet commandaria wine – a variety that ranks among the oldest in the world.

A great day exploring some of the ancient history of the South of the Island - What an excellent day. Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and entertaining which was great considering the size if this group and the sheer number of people that happened to be at Kourion when we got there. Good amount of time to explore both Kourion and Kolossi Castle. The trip to the winery went down a hit with the group although might have been better for after lunch - a few of our group struggled to get back to the coach. Good at the taverna in Omodos was excellent. Only criticism of Omodos is that we probably didn't quite need a full hour of free time to explore the town after lunch - it is not that bug a town and if you're doing multiple trips into the Troodos you will likely have already cone across Omodos. All in all a great day was had.

Lovely trip - Excellent guide very knowledgable. Collected from hotel by 6 seater taxi and driven to meeting point where we joined a mini bus . First stop to see ruins of church. Then onto carob factory/museum time to stroll around village and try carob products. Then travelled to small village for coffee break. Continued on to view Venetian bridge and monastry. We were now high in the mountains beautiful scenary all around. Stopped for excellent meze lunch ( don’t eat much for breakfast this is a banquet- absolutely lovely food). Continuing our journey to tea house for herbal tea tasting and opportunity to purchase local herbal teas. Final journey back to meeting point to transfer to taxi for final return to hotel . Would rate this trip 10 out of 10 - suitable for all ages- but not for anyone who doesn’t travel well the roads are very bendy. Thank you to our guide and drivers .

Unexpected & informative. - This is our first trip to Cyprus so we wanted to find out a little about the place and this tour was perfect. You are driven around the mountains in a minibus and taken to locations you normally would think to visit like the Carob factory. All the locations are interesting but the best bit was the guide who was a wealth of information not only about the locations but the plants, animals and history of the island.

One of my favourite experiences in Cyprus - This was a great tour - the guide was knowledgeable, funny and the locations selected perfectly lovely. The winery specifically was spectacularly situated, with many high quality varietals to try. Honestly, a wonderful day out. Only hyper minor note is just to make 100% sure you check your messages to ensure the proper, up to date pickup location. Luckily I was only a couple blocks away from the location I thought I was being picked up at based on my requested pick up location, but totally got the bus anyway.

Tour of Mountain Area - Was surprissed when we were picked up from hotel by a mini bus. However soon understood why. Roads are very steep with sharp bends, if you dont like mountain roads this trip is maybe not for you, our guide was very knowledgeable regarding the area, driver was very competent. Stopped at some interesting place on trip. Tour lasted about 8 hours. Plenty of toilet stops and opportunities to get out for break. Price seems a bit steep but does include lunch.

The tour guide was incredibly... -
The tour guide was incredibly knowledgable and really pleasant. The tour covered a huge amount of the mountains. Stops included the Tzelefos Bridge, Kykkos Monastery, the Anogyra Village Carob Museum, as well as a restaurant for a filling Mezze style lunch and a shop where we sampled local teas and cake.
The only thing I would caution is that the vast majority of the day is on a winding bus so if you get car-sick, it is not ideal. The views are amazing from the bus and I'd recommend just pausing in a few more places just to get out of the bus, maybe take a photo, to help with car-sickness. Otherwise, the tour was incredible!
