great way to spend evening in lisbon! - Roquelle was a fantastic guide, super knowledgeable and took us on a really fun tour in Alfama. We tried a variety of food - and they were able to accommodate someone's food allergy in our group. I was worried it wouldn't be enough food but it was plenty. The Fado house they took us to was really small and felt like a really authentic experience. My only suggestion is for the guide to bring a speaker for certain parts of the tour!

Our guide, Helena, was... - Our guide, Helena, was fantastic! She did an amazing job leading us through the historic neighborhoods in Lisbon, sharing history, and tying that the fado music we were about to hear. The food, snacks and drinks were all delicious and the fado music was exquisite! Really felt like we were at a local restaurant rather than a tourist trap.

Lisbon - evening walk with food and fado - On this evening walking tour we caught some wonderful views of the city. There IS a special glow about Lisbon. As Jamie our guide shared what Fado meant, we caught a glimpse of the passion locals have for their city - it was a privilege to have him take us around. Thank you.

Delicious food and drinks - Alicia is the perfect guide for this tour. We also got to meet Agget who was also warm and friendly. Alicia said we should feel like we were spending a night out with friends and we absolutely did. Food and drinks were fantastic.

What a special experience! - We thoroughly enjoyed our Food & Fado tour with our Devour guide, Raquel Azedo. She was personable, funny, and highly informative about the history of Fado, as well as the history and culture of Lisbon. The highlight of the tour, of course, was the dinner and Fado at the O Segredo D’Alfama restaurant. The meal was excellent, as were the musicians and two singers we heard (unfortunately, we missed hearing our hostess, Maria, sing at the end of the evening as we were outside waiting for our ride back to the hotel at the time). Fado music is so passionate and emotional—what a treat to experience it in such an intimate setting. We loved the two Devour tours we had in Lisbon and look forward to more in the future!

Ann Elisa is so happy to share her love of the city!! - Our tour was led by Ann Elisa. She was absolutely amazing, and the tour was definitely a highlight of our trip. It was clear she was so happy to be with our small group and share her knowledge of the beautiful city! Ann Elisa explained all about the history of fado as we walked the path through two neighborhoods where it all started. Our first stop, at Ourives, the small plates and vhino Verde we shared were delicious, and the restaurant itself was awesome. We then literally went to a local little old lady's door, who served is the best ginjia we've had on the trip. Finally we went to the fado restaurant and were amazed by the talent and passion of the artists. This was our 5th Devour tour (others were Lisbon, Madrid, London, and Paris) and right at the top for us. We also realized a huge part of what makes it so good is the people you meet during the tour. Our experience would not have been the same without the wonderful conversation with Diogo and Alecia (I apologize if I got the names wrong - there was wine!!) We even connected with them on WhatsApp because they graciously offered to share information on wines they enjoy (and offered help if we had any other questions during our stay). It was nearly 1 AM when we got back to the hotel. We loved everything about the evening. :-)

Poor experience. Would not recommend - Not impressed. Way overpriced for what you received. I wouldn't call this a food tour. One stop and dinner and a fado show. Fado show was what gave you the two rating. Could have booked the Fado show and dinner oirselces theiugh the jotel for free. Guide did not stay for the whole event and left us to find our own way back k via taxi or Uber at our own cost. Which was an added expense that was not expected. This was not advertised in the group overview. Guide should have stayed with us and brought us back to the starting point at minimum. Booking a couple of Tuk Tuks to do so would have been helpful. Will not be re commending this tour. .
