Great Tour! - Lisbon Fado Experience was an excellent walking tour/dinner. Our guide, Catalina, was very knowledgeable, nice, and fun. She provided great historical information during our stops and described very well the Fado we were going to experience. The dinner with Fado music was a great value. Food was good and plenty. The music was great! Altogether, Catalina lead a great tour, and we had a great time.

Fado - A Walk Awhile Back Story then the Real Deal! - We met our guide Catalina at the designated meeting point and when all of last night’s group had arrived we set off out into the beautiful square below the station.a few moments later we were starting to climb. The stories were informative and delivered in style from the smiling Catalina. Take a look at the pictures for landmarks you will see on the 60 minute walk. After the last spectacular lookout we went down an amazing twisting staircase between local’s houses and arrived at the Alfama Grill named after the district we were in. Stepping inside we found a tightly packed room, narrow at the front and widening at the back to all for tables of 10 either side of the centre aisle, kind of Las Vegas Casino Dinner and Show style. Portions of bread, ham cheese and olives were already on the table, and in short order our wine arrived. we tried the local Green Wine - it was OK, but I won’t be chasing it down to have it again! Suddenly, the lights dimmed and the 2 guitarists took their seats and played an instrumental to start the bracket. Then the Fadonista stood up and started singing, what a voice she had. She sang 3 songs then the lights went up and our pre-ordered main courses were delivered by the waitstaff. I had the Grilled Chicken and fries, while my wife had the Codfish “Cottage Pie”. Neither of us could completely finish the generous servings. Next up was a young male singer, who also had a good singing voice but not quite as loud as the lady’s. 1 guitar tune and 3 songs for him too. One more break for desserts, then she was back for another 3 songs including a big all join in chorus of “Isto e Lisboa” (This is Lisbon) which was a fun finish to the night for us. Catalina showed us the passageway down to the road by the Museo do Fado, where we picked up our Uber car back to the hotel for the second time that day. The tour delivers what it promises - you can’t ask for more than that!

Fado Dinner w/ Miguel - This was a wonderful choice for many reasons, we got to experience part of the city we were not staying in, learned some history along the way during our walk to dinner, dinner was plentiful and very delicious and the fado experience was beautiful. Three different singers sang in a small, dimly lit restaurant that we would have probably never found in our own. Miguel the tour guide also was fantastic, very inquisitive about where everyone was from, made you feel very welcomed. Also he was very informative, full of all the city’s history! Thank you Miguel!

An evening in Lisbon - We experienced the walking tour and Fado dinner in Lisbon. Miguel was our wonderful guide. His knowledge of Lisbon and Fado music was inspiring. You could tell how passionate he is for this style of music. The dinner was delicious and offered several choices to choose from. Before dinner Miguel escorted us to various sights related to the history of Fado. I would highly recommend this tour with Miguel.

Had a great time! - Catalina was fantastic, the show and the meal were excellent. Two suggestions: 1. The instructions said to meet at Hostel Destination Lisbon, but did not say that it's a bar, not a hostel, that is actually inside the train station, on the second floor and no signage otherwise outside to indicate that, so pretty difficult to find - almost missed the meet up. 2. There was no notice that there is a LOT of climbing on the walking tour. No problem for us, but a few elderly folks in our group were unable to make the climb and had to forfeit the experience right away and I could tell were diappointed. Please provide more comprehensive information.

A Great Fad Experience - This was a wonderful time. The only comment I might make is the walk in the dark was a tricky time with uneven walkways. But the info, meal and music were very good.

Good tour, mediocre fado - Miguel was a good guide; he shared some interesting facts and legends about the city itself, fado, and the origins of fado. The viewpoints were good, too. The tempo of the walking tour was well paced, and he was talking with some people from our group. So he was helpful and friendly. The issue though, the food was mediocre at the restaurant. The performers were good but the restaurant was cramped. The overall experience about food and fado was mediocre at best.

Thumbs down for your guide - Tour operator left with out us- we were in building location before meeting time. Called me 1x, poor directions. Meeting location should be more clear, with updated photo. Tour guide never called a second time. Never looked out for a group of six in the area we were to meet.
