We will explore the key points of the site. - Museu do Santuario de Fatima - Museum of the Sanctuary and Chapel of the Apparitions: The pedestal holding the original sculpture of Our Lady of Fátima marks the exact location of the holm oak where the Blessed Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to the Three Little Shepherds on May 13, June, July, September, and October of 1917. We will share the stories of the little shepherds and Our Lady.
- Batalha - We will stroll through the city center and visit the Batalha Monastery.
- Batalha Monastery - This national monument has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983 and includes the Founder’s Chapel. It was built following a promise made by King João I in gratitude for the victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota on August 14, 1385, which secured his throne and ensured Portugal’s independence. Explore Batalha through its streets and monastery.
- Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima - Located where the Three Little Shepherds were playing and saw a flash they thought was a thunderstorm on May 13, 1917. We will discuss the stories and curiosities of the site as we enter.
