Mixed review as a hop on/off vs tour - Enjoyed seeing the city, give drivers a thumbs up for navigating those streets Didn’t always stop at points if no one boarding

Just ok - We typically book Hop on hop off buses when we get to a new location to get orientated to the city and get some historical background. The one in Lisbon was useful but on the low end of quality for the many we have done. The info provided on the headphones was really brief and the staff weren’t overly friendly which was surprising.

Average Hop On Hop Off - The bus itself was just like any other hop on hop off bus so it was comfortable and easy to navigate. The audio during the trip was very minimal to the point where at some points there was Portuguese music playing for 10+ minutes. There are three lines which were nice to see parts of the city you may not have seen.

It's a bus, not much info - The bus routes get you to most of the important places, but value is added when the audio tour gives you information on what you are seeing. Most of the stops weren't even announced. We passed by plenty of places that I am sure had some history, but this tour lacked it.

Probably the worst of all! - Awful! Green line: very few words spoken by the audio system, uninteresting as well. The driver was driving too fast to enjoy anything. Red line: audio was better but the driver scratched the front bumper of a car parked. We stayed on site for 30 minutes not knowing what was going on until I went down and saw the driver signing accident report! No communication whatsoever. The worst!

Non sight seeing tours - This was a poor experience compared to similar tours in other cities . The commentary on the headset provided was scant and the brochure was in Portugese with very few tips or descriptions on what would be good to see . We did the red line bus which had 20 on/off stops most of which were not near any decent attractions . Nobody got off at the first 10 stops and nobody got on which indicated how poor the attractions where . Some of the attractions were closed on Monday but the driver didn't know if they were open or not . The only thing I discovered about Lisbon was that the hop on hop off buses are the worst tourist guides I have ever been on.

DO. NOT.BOOK!!! - This was THE WORST experience!!! We boarded the bus at the meet up point and was never able to board again. We tried 2x in 2 different locations only to be told the bus was full. Poor signage throughout the route. We ended up walking 5 miles back to our hotel. We paid all that $$$ for about a 15 min ride.

Terrible company to deal with - avoid, use a different city tour! - We purchased an online ticket when in Lisbon with our cruise in July. The company’s own website states buses are every 30 mins. We waited at our chosen stop in heat of 36 degrees for 40 mins and no bus came, until the kids couldn’t stick the heat anymore so we had to leave and got a taxi. The ticket wasn’t activated and the company has refused to give a refund despite them not meeting their own commitment regarding time between buses. A completely unreasonable, unreliable company! I even asked for a credit to use in another city (we were only is Lisbon that one day) and they’ve refused that too! Don’t give this company your money!

DISAPPOINTED in Lisbon - Having gone on the Liverpool tour, we were excited to see this available on our day stop in Lisbon for our cruise. Didn’t even come close the meeting expectations. We bought tickets in the cruise terminal. We were advised as to the two route options of Red or Blue. We decided Red was the right option for us and hopped on the bus. Fortunately we learned early from another passenger that the Red route only picked up at the cruise terminal…but that we would need the Blue route to get back to our starting point While the flyer/map says English, only the major stop descriptions are in English. The design is awful for trying to actually see the language number of the 13 options. The sound is mono … meaning it only generates into one earphone, not both. This is problematic when you have busy street sounds and people conversing. Once we got going, the narrator was very limited. Since we didn’t start at the usual starting point we thought it would get better when we stop 1 … about 30 minutes later. Even then we only could tell it was stop 1 by the map. Getting going the narrator picked up again. You except silence at stoplights and slow traffic. However most of the narratives were about 3 sentences. As we approached stops, there was nothing that clearly stated stop 2, 3, etc. Again had to figure it out from the map … in Portuguese. Finally arriving at stop 6 nearly an hour after starting at stop 1 (not the cruise port, but the real stop 1) we got off. This was the closest to the cruise terminal. With 10 more stops to go plus needing to get onto the Blue line to get back to the port, we gave up. We didn’t expect to take 3 hours or more to make it one time around the route. Very disappointing and a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!!

Avoid - Avoid buying from cruise terminal. You will be told that you have bought green (old town), red (new town) & Blue (surrounding area). We were met at the bus stop and told to get Blue line first after an argument about the tickets went left, good grief you don’t want to see anything on the blue line it’s the rough side of town. The bus was packed & forced downstairs with no air conditioning & most of the audio was dreadful music. We arrived at the main meeting point number 1 after 45 painful mins. We waited patiently being told different places to wait in the scorching sun & watched the chaos. After 20 mins & letting the red line pass we got on the small single decker bus. Only to be told our purchase didn’t include the green line. We tried to explain we bought all 3 lines to be told it’s impossible to buy all 3 lines. While trying to explain, the bus now full went without us. I can understand €27 pp for the green & red lines (didn’t get to use) & then extra €3 for blue line if u really want to see the rough side. We bought 8 x €27 = €216 if we were told €30 we would have paid it. There were other places selling all 3 lines. The town is easily accessible by foot from the cruise terminal & heard good things from passengers using the electric tuk tuk. If u really have to use this service just walk into town & get on at any green line stops for €3.
