Effective and correct - I chose 72 hours with the four lines, efficient and to go to Cascais it is a good idea then it takes between 45 to 55 minutes by UBER. Obviously always the same, look for point 1 for activity tickets, the application is not very effective since they do not see the buses on the route so often very long waiting period without knowing when it will be there or if it has already passed.

Good way to see what the city has to offer. - Did have difficulty hearing the commentary on the earbuds. May have been just mine. Also hard to differentiate between buses as they look exactly the same but run by different companies. Otherwise, it was a good way to tour Lisbon.

Disappointing a Somewhat Frightening - The drivers on the buses don’t seem friendly and they literally drove around Lisbon at breakneck speeds not allowing for proper viewing or photos. The stops weren’t always announced leaving one to wonder where we were. The boat ride however, was delightful. A full 2 hours - no commentary at all however but being on the water was very nice.

Not worth it. - This gets you from A to B, that’s it. Routes seem complicated with much wasted time, maybe it’s the one way streets but… The commentary is pathetic, 2 lines per stop. What would it take to vamp it up? No historical background. Just states what it is you’re seeing, not always well synchronized. Your drop off is not necessarily at the attraction, just sort of close. I have done this in many cities, and usually they are great, In my opinion, a waste of money in Lisbon.

Good value despite the kerfuffle - I do these types of so called exploratory adventures all over the world. Unfortunately the misinformation and disorganization of this particular organization in Lisbon was unsettling. I purchased via app to use when I disembarked my cruise at the port. After waiting 30 minutes or so for the bus, I attempted to board by using my ticket app. Whereas I was scolded by the driver and told I was on the wrong company’s bus. Even after showing bus driver the name and exact same bus was on my ticket, he continued to scold me. I asked if he could scan the ticket, he rudely said no. I then asked if he could enter the ticket number. Regrettably he agreed, scan would not process. Unfortunately the driver seemed less than versed with how to use scanner or keypad. He then “graciously” (hmmm) allowed me to board anyway, but told me not to get off at any stops because I needed to go to office. Well unfortunately the woman working the counter at the office was less hospitable than the bus driver. After 15 minutes or so and 2 phone calls to who, I don’t know, I was given a paper ticket to use and sent on my way, with no apologies for the inconvenience of my holiday time. Ugh The actual tour itself is very nice, couple different lines, the smaller bus up the mountain near the castle is definitely worth the adventure!!

Very dissapointing experience - We have bought 4 tickets for adults for 3 lines tour for 48 hours. Terrible scheduling , not on time buses. But the worst thing is the actual audio guide. They do not give any information about the city, monosylabus sentences about several lanmarks. Surely the city deserves some respect and have a lot to say for itself! the majority of time it is music in your headphones. Extremely dissapointed!!! The app which supposed to show you live busses location is inaccurate.

Avoid - Paid £59 for 2 tickets. Got the red line on first day and got off at Belém. Buses were meant to be every 25 mins but we waited 75 mins for a bus back. Next day got the green line. Again, got off the bus to look around. Tried to get a bus back but first 2 were full which was fair enough. Third bus had seats but bus driver did. It want to stop. We ended up having to walk and find a metro station. Absolute waste of money. We have used the hop on hop off buses in other cities and never had any issues.

Total waste of time and money - Absolute waste of time and money, don't bother. We were in Lisbon for a day as part of a cruise, there is a desk in the terminal as you get off the ship, I only wanted the red route but was sold both blue and red routes as not much extra which I appreciate is my fault, but I thought if we get round the city quickly we can also use the blue route. Spent 20 mins on the bus before departing, then headed through gridlock traffic to the start point, the entire journey took nearly 3 hours, the commentary was rubbish, we spent most of the journey crawling in traffic. It would have been much better off getting the local bus up to the monastery, Belem de nata and Belem tower and back again, as it was we only saw these on the drive by on the bus as if we'd of got off I was concerned about missing seeing places of interest around the main city centre. Which we did manage to do on foot in the afternoon we also had a quick ride on the 28 tram which is only a few euros. In future I will stick to public transport for getting around cities, google maps is great at showing suitable buses to get you from A to B and a fraction on the cost of the Hop on Hop off bus. Unless you can't walk far don't bother. Like previous people have mentioned there is no announcement of which stop you are at unless you can see from your seat it's a guess. Needless to say all the people on our bus were complaining how rubbish it was.
