Additional Information

Lisbon is best discovered on foot - on this city tour accompanied by a German-speaking city guide with exciting insights into Portuguese history, culture and current topics.

Starting at Rossio Square, the small group (max. 12 participants) explores the districts of Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto and Alfama.

On the way from the lower town to the poets’ quarter of Chiado, the group admires the Santa Justa elevator first from below, then from the viewing platform with a view of the lower town and Lisbon Castle. Then it goes from the Carmo monastery ruins through the Chiado district.

After a climb through the residential district of Bairro Alto, which is quiet during the day (nightlife awakens here in the evening), the group reaches the viewing point where they linger for a break.

After a taste, it goes to Alfama, the oldest district, with its viewing points and winding alleys.

The end is at the Praça do Comércio, directly on the Tejo River and the impressive triumphal arch.

  • Not suitable for people with walking difficulties. A moderate to good level of fitness is recommended to explore the city on foot.
