Highlights
  • Parque Eduardo VII - The Eduardo VII Park of England, formerly Parque da Liberdade, is the largest park in the center of Lisbon, being locally known only as Parque Eduardo VII
  • Avenida da Liberdade - Avenida da Liberdade is one of the main avenues in the city of Lisbon, in Portugal, which connects Praça dos Restauradores to Praça do Marquês de Pombal. About 90 m wide and 1100 m long, it has several lanes and wide sidewalks decorated with gardens and Portuguese sidewalks.

You can walk along the busiest street in Lisbon and shop.

  • Rossio Square - Praça de D. Pedro IV, better known as Rossio, is a square in downtown Lisbon and has been one of the city’s nerve centers. In the Roman period there was a hippodrome.

  • Lisbon Cathedral - The Lisbon Cathedral, or Santa Maria Maior Cathedral, is located in the city of the same name, in Portugal. It is the seat of the Patriarchate of Lisbon and the Parish of the Cathedral. Its construction began in the second half of the 12th century, after the conquest of the city from the Moors by D. Afonso Henriques, and today it presents itself as a mixture of architectural styles. It has been classified as a National Monument since 1910.

  • Miradouro das Portas do Sol - Take advantage of the stop to take photos with a wonderful view. Visiting the viewpoint is also an excuse to appreciate the genuine features of Lisbon in a fantastic view of the eastern front of the Alfama neighborhood and the Tagus River, which extends to the river’s edge in a unique labyrinth of streets, staircases and alleys. From the top of the viewpoint it is also possible to admire the different domes and different architectures of the churches of Santo Estêvão, São Miguel and São Vicente de Fora.

  • Castelo de S. Jorge - The first walls of the castle, which was rebuilt several times by different people and received different names, date back to the 2nd century. The current name derives from the castle’s devotion to Saint George, patron saint of knights and crusades, made by order of D. João I in the 14th century.

  • Chiado - Lisbon’s commerce and theater center, Chiado is home to Rua Garrett, a shopping area with sophisticated shops, restaurants and the 18th century Bertrand Bookstore. Locals gather near statues of the greats of Portuguese literature in the lively Praça Luís de Camões. Nearby, the Church of the Incarnation and the Church of Loreto feature ornate marble interiors, while the 18th-century Teatro Nacional de São Carlos boasts Rococo-style decorations.

  • Mosteiro dos Jeronimos - The Monastery of Santa Maria de Belém, better known as Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, is a Portuguese monastery, built at the end of the 15th century by King Manuel I and was handed over to the Order of Saint Jerónimo. It is located in the parish of Belém.

  • Pastéis de Belém - In 1837 they began manufacturing Pastéis de Belém, according to an old recipe from the Jerónimos Monastery that is reborn every day in the factory using the same artisanal processes. Pastéis de Belém today provide the taste of ancient Portuguese sweets.

  • Alfama - The steep streets of Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest areas, are lined with traditional craft shops and cafes. The historic tram no. 28, packed with passengers, winds through Alfama and climbs to the 11th-century São Jorge Castle. The views from Miradouro da Graça extend over the city and the Tagus River. At night, it is possible to hear the melancholic fado in some of the restaurants in the area, which have long been in operation.

  • Padrao dos Descobrimentos - The Monument to the Discoveries or Monument to the Navigators is located in the parish of Belém, in the city and district of Lisbon, in Portugal. The architectural design was by Cottinelli Telmo and the sculptures were by Leopoldo de Almeida.

  • Torre de Belem - The Belém Tower, formerly Torre de São Vicente a Par de Belém, officially Torre de São Vicente, is a fortification located in the parish of Belém, municipality and district of Lisbon, in Portugal.

  • Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco) - Praça do Comércio, still commonly referred to by its former name of Terreiro do Paço, is a square in downtown Lisbon located next to the Tagus River, in the area that was the site of the palace of the kings of Portugal for around two centuries and that today it is partially occupied by some government departments.
