OBIDOS CASTLE
Obidos Castle dates back to Portugal’s Roman era, but its current structure is Moorish, shaped by various restorations and reconstructions by different Portuguese kings since 1148. The main towers, constructed in 1375, served both military and royal purposes. The primary building, where the Portuguese king stayed during his visits, has been converted into a hotel following extensive restoration that began in 1932.
NAZARE
Nazare is renowned for having the highest waves in the world. The area also features a lighthouse and a statue of the Devil Deer.
FATIMA
Fatima is home to a large church, built to commemorate a miraculous event where three children, while playing with small rocks, witnessed an apparition of the Virgin Mary.
