Highlights
  • Oceanario de Lisboa - Opened during the Lisbon World Exposition of 1998, the Oceanario is a top attraction. With over 1 million annual visitors, it offers an enchanting glimpse into the underwater world. Explore 8,000 sea creatures from 500 species, including penguins, otters, sharks, and corals. The main exhibit features a 5-million-liter saltwater aquarium, surrounded by habitats representing the North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific, and Tropical Indian Ocean. The journey unfolds on two levels, crossing temperate, tropical, and cold waters of different oceans. Notable installations include “Forests Underwater” and “ONE - The Sea as you’ve never felt it,” both celebrating oceanic beauty and connection with nature. The Oceanario is not just a spectacle; it actively promotes ocean education, research, and conservation efforts, collaborating with various institutions. Fantabulous Aquarium Experience - The water exhibits were amazing, we could have spent hours there if not for our Hunter pangs. The Mola Mola, Sand Tiger Sharks and Sea Otters Odi and Kassi were my highlights.

A super positive experience for the whole family - Super recommended experience. My children, although teenagers, were enthusiastic about the visit. I am also pleased to report the great availability of the organization that found the AirPods that my son had lost during the visit committing to send them home. Without words

A wonderful place for visitors of all ages - The Lisbon Oceanarium is a fantastic attraction for visitors of all ages. It features various fish and marine species worldwide, all carefully displayed for an enjoyable viewing experience. While all the aquariums and climate zones are beautifully arranged and entertaining, the otters were our favorites. Watching them play in the pool is an experience that can captivate you indefinitely. This place will bring out your inner child, guaranteeing a boost of positive emotions and pure happiness.

Go even if just to see the otters!! - The otters were adorable as were the penguins. It might be the biggest in the world but Sydney aquarium beats it with its glass walkway and fish swimming above your head. Kids will love it though.

Very busy but nice place - Really great place and lots of information and conservation efforts happening. The oceanarium itself was very busy and was quite difficult to get around. However, the show outside of the oceanarium was really beautiful and interesting.

Nice variety, but elaborate - It's all a matter of budget - time and money: The Oceanário is about half an hour away from the city center, with all the trimmings you should plan for a half day for a visit. For a family of four you are also fixed at 200 euros with directions, admission, souvenir and snack. On the other hand, a great change in the Lisbon programme - especially for children and young people who do not otherwise care much about sightseeing.

Worth a visit - Nice aquarium. Laid out in a way that has a good flow. It can get a bit crowded at spots so don’t be in a rush. You will see everything. Otters were the best. Staff friendly and helpful. One of the nicest aquariums I’ve been to.

Bof - Aquarium more than mediocre. A big pool in the middle where there is a diversity of fish and the rest zero. Small aquariums with 3/4 fish fighting in a duel. In addition it is indicated that it takes about 3 hours to visit the aquarium. Make it in 1:15. Avoid for 25 euros per person

Worst experience ever! - Worst experience ever!!! Animals and aquarium very well treated, however quantity of people on site makes the experience terrible and without the possibility of doing what we paid, living is enjoying the marine life!!
