This architectural ensemble also includes the ancient hermitage of São Saturnino and a mysterious romantic-revivalist palace built in 1918.

Situated about 150 meters from the sea, it offers a sweeping view over the Serra de Sintra and the coastline, making the visit worthwhile.

Historical records indicate the presence of a fort at Cabo da Roca in the 17th century, which played a crucial role in defending the entrance to Lisbon, forming a coastal defense line, particularly during the Peninsular Wars.
