A great guide for learning about the past and present of LGBTQ Lisbon - Alex is truly passionate about history and his Queer Lisbon Guide is an essential to navigating Lisbon and its LGBTQ+ scene. A ton of research went into this tour and it was great to learn about the current LGBTQ+ bars in the Principe Real and Bairro Alto area as well as those no longer with us. It was so interesting to hear the stories Fado from a queer context, the first drag bar, historic cruising sites and more. I also appreciated the stop at GAT where he explained the important work they do in relation to sexual health.

A Must - If you are a queer person visiting Lisbon, and especially if you're a history buff, I highly recommend signing up for the tour as early in your visit as possible! - You will get a broad picture of all the places you want to visit in the rest of your stay if you want to experience some of the city's queer community. - In addition, you will get a fascinating window into the city's queer history - from major significant events to esoteric scandalous anecdotes. - It's a great way to connect with other queer people that are in the city - Alex is absolutely charming. His humour and passion make this an engaging experience at every moment. - I had one con - as of August 2023, not a lot of information on the tour about trans history unfortunately... But still, the amount of information on this tour is INSANE especially considering the fact that it's just one guy. And Alex was very responsive to questions I had about the community.
