• Quinta do Alcube - Another highlight is Quinta de Alcube, a family-owned wine cellar with a rich history dating back to 1913. Visitors to this charming traditional winery can sample a variety of wines and learn about the “agricultural side” of winemaking.
• Jose Maria de Fonseca - At the esteemed wine cellars of José Maria da Fonseca, guests will discover the winery’s storied past, which began in 1834, and taste some of its renowned wines. This is one of Portugal’s oldest family-owned cellars, now in its seventh generation. This winery is a staple in the day’s itinerary.
• Casa Mae da Rota de Vinhos - Each of Portugal’s 14 wine regions has a regional “Mother House.” Here, all 24 wineries of the Setúbal region are represented in one location. Visitors can explore and taste the diverse offerings, terroirs, styles, and types produced by these wineries.
• Adega De Palmela - For those seeking a more “industrial” experience, the Adega Cooperativa de Palmela Winery is ideal. Especially during harvest season, visitors can immerse themselves in the wine production process.
• Palmela - If the tour includes a full lunch (appetizers, main course (fish or meat), dessert, and beverage (wine or other)), it will be served in a quaint, family-owned restaurant in the village of Palmela.
