Good value tour and our guide Maria was excellent - Enjoyed our trip despite the weather. Maria our guide was extremely knowledgeable and certainly knew her historical facts. She had to deal with an awkward situation between some fellow passengers which she handled with diplomacy. We visited Sintra first but, by the time we’d had a coffee and a cake at a cafe suggested by our guide, we didn’t feel we had enough time to venture too far. I would also have liked longer at Pena Palace especially as the weather wasn’t great when we arrived but did get a little better later on. This impacted our ability to take some photos of the beautiful buildings. Please note that there was some scaffolding around one of the turrets as some work was being carried out. We arrived at the base of the Palace around 10.20 and chose to take the shuttle up to the palace as it was very drizzly and the climb up to the palace looked steep. The tickets cost €3 each for the return journey. We had to buy the tickets for the bus and then rejoin the entrance queue to go through security and the line for the bus. The line for the shuttle bus was very long ( we were packed like sardines) so we didn’t get to the Palace entrance until nearly 11.00 so decided to line up in readiness for our 11.30 timed entrance. We were warned that the tour around the Palace was like a long shuffling snake however on occasions, we were able to stop and admire the surroundings. The tour usually takes around 45 minutes so by the time we had been on the tour, took some photographs of the views. It was time to get the shuttle bus back down to meet our guide. We didn’t get the chance to look around the beautiful gardens which was disappointing. We then went on to Cascais where we had time for lunch. Maria our guide gave us some suggestions for restaurants for lunch but we were happy to wander around in the sunshine and find a nice place ourselves. Following our tour, Maria sent us some Spotify Fado music which I thought was a nice touch. We felt the tour was value for money and made even better by our guide Maria who communicated well with us prior to our visit via WhatsApp. Thank you

Good way to visit Sintra and Cascais - You get to see two nice cities and a wonderful palace/garden in one day. The route was pretty and there was enough time at each stop. The group was not too big (7 people). Our driver, Ivo, was very pleasant and told us a lot of nice information about the towns and Portugal in general. He was very friendly and answered any questions with a smile. He was concerned that all his passengers were comfortable and enjoying themselves.
