Highlights
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - The Palacio Nacional da Pena is one of the finest tourist attractions of Portugal and exemplifies the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture. The palace is a hedonistic mix of vividly painted terraces, decorative battlements, and mythological statues, all of which stand in stark contrast to the lush greens of the forests that encircle Pena.
  • Cabo da Roca - Cabo da Roca is a cape which forms the westernmost extent of mainland Portugal, continental Europe and the Eurasian land mass. Around 150 metres above the sea, here you can have a panoramic view over the Serra de Sintra and the coast, which makes it worth the visit.

Historical records indicate that there was a fort on Cabo da Roca in the 17th century that played an important part in guarding the entrance to Lisbon’s harbour, forming a defensive line along the coast, especially during the Peninsular Wars. Today there are only traces, as well as the lighthouse which is still an important point for navigation.

It lies within the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais and is one of the points of interest on the walking trails that can be followed here, along the coast.

  • Boca do Inferno - The Boca do Inferno is an interesting cliff formation close to Cascais, which has been given an overly dramatic name of Hell’s Mouth. The ceaseless pounding of the Atlantic Ocean on the cliffs chiseled out a small cave, which subsequently collapsed forming a small bay and natural arch.
  • Cascais Marina - Cascais is a delightful Portuguese fishing town, and is the Lisbon’s coastline most popular holiday destination. The town is situated on a beautiful coastline, and during the summer it is a bustling resort, with a buzzing holiday atmosphere.

Highly Recommend. Excellent value and beautiful memories made! - I booked this tour for my last day in Portugal and wow- what a beautiful way to spend my final hours! Shortly after I booked a full day tour of Sintra, Cascais etc, I emailed the company with questions about where would be the closest pick up location. Giuliana responded quickly and was very helpful with confirming the closest pickup location as well as the easiest to get there by train ( she even including a pic of the metra lines with the relevant stops highlighted!). I arrived at the location a little early and my guide (Ruben) arrived with a warm, friendly smile to pick me up. It appealed to me that the tour was a small group. We rode in a comfortable mini van and Ruben navigated those winding roads with ease and precision. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Pina Palace and the other places we stopped at . The views were breathtaking throughout the entire day. We were fortunate in that we had a really great group of people. Everyone was happy and excited to experience the tour. I loved everything about this tour from beginning to end. We got to spend time on our own walking through the downtown of sintra as well as the beach side town of Cascais where we stopped and had lunch. The entire day was about 8 hours and was excellent value. Samantha S.

Great Sintra trip with Gus - Gus really made this tour special. His English is perfect, and he really knows his stuff. We are a bunch of nerds and had many questions and he answered them all.

This is a great tour and worth every penny! - First, our tour guide Igor was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and an asset to your company. SIntra was great to visit, and the Pena Palace was so beautiful to see. Ending in Cascais was a perfect way to end the day with a great lunch by the beach. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

The tour was really nice.... - The tour was really nice. I wish they give more time in Cabo da Roca (amazing place, with incredible view) and less time in Cascais as there is nothing special there.

Great place to see with the right tour guide - I highly recommend seeing these beautiful places with an incredible experience. Make sure to find a company that chooses excellent safe drivers for small groups, people who can speak English well and and are good history teller. Our program was for 8 hours for the day, and our tour guide finished it within 7 hours. He explained the places to us may be 20 minutes of the total 7 hours. I had to find most of my information about the places on internet. I highly recommend to use Viator.com for your trip. I got to see so much because of this company with so many great options plus 24 hours costumer service.
