So much fun - Surfing the clean, consistent waves off the coast of Portugal has been a dream of mine for a long time, and today I did it!! Thank you Decio and your team! Decio arranged a time for the trip that would be best for surf conditions. I was picked up close to my accommodation in Lisbon, and dropped off there after the adventure. Wetsuit and board were provided, and they were great. The actual session was so much fun. We were just two students, so very safe. The coach reminded us of good technique and had us practice on the sand before we did a quick warm up, and hit the waves. After a few failed attempts, I finally made it up and was flying! Everyone cheered and I couldn’t stop laughing. After that, it felt easy. The beach is so beautiful, the coaches so helpful, and everyone made me feel very welcome. I loved it. Five stars, do recommend!!

Highly recommended - A wonderful experience. It was me and a friend, and we had a great time. We did the activity with the instructor Eduardo, who was very friendly and helpful. We started with warm-up exercises, followed by a theoretical explanation of the techniques, and finally we had fun trying to put them into practice. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Highly recommended.

Love! - As someone who’s never surfed before, this was genuinely the most thrilling and fun activity! Luis was the BEST, encouraging me at all times and focusing on form while having a good time. Can’t recommend this enough- even if you have no experience, you’ll still love it!!!

Amazing instructor, clear communication, and great surfing - Decio was an amazing instructor, he had amazing communication before and during the lesson. He was super encouraging and helpful with tips on getting up and turning on your board. Additionally all the staff were very kind and let us borrow sunscreen when we forgot to bring any. 11/10 experience!

My friend and I booked... - My friend and I booked the course three times in a row, and each time was fantastic! Our trainer, Decio, kept the sessions fun with his great sense of humor while remaining highly professional. We especially appreciated how he enthusiastically celebrated our victories, which really helped keep us motivated. Overall, we felt very well supported. Regarding the course itself, we found the price for the course to be very fair, and we were genuinely pleased with the experience. Hopefully we’ll be able to do it again one day!

Very kind instructors and... - Very kind instructors and fun experience! We just wanted to try surfing and, while we weren’t that great at it, we still had fun attempting and riding the board on our bellies :)

Wonderful experience with great instructors - I booked it for myself and my two grown up children. It was a wonderfully enjoyable experience for all of us. Very nice, friendly and caring instructors and staff. They can speak good English. We were very well looked after. Good value for money. Highly recommendable.

It was my second time... - It was my second time with SurfIn surf school and I highly recommend! The instructors were very helpful and I felt safe during the whole lesson which resulted in an amazing experience!

Great Surf Lesson, but Concerning Treatment Toward Solo Black Travelers - I took a surf class with this school back in July and the actual surfing experience was great — the instructor was skilled, the lesson was fun, and I genuinely enjoyed being in the water. However, I want to share some things that were concerning as a Black woman traveling solo, because I wouldn’t want anyone else to feel the way I did. The pickup process was very stressful. The first driver who arrived saw me, then drove off and said they’d return, but never did. Another driver eventually came, but acted uncomfortable that I didn’t speak Portuguese and made it feel like an issue. Later, during drop-off, the staff arranged an driver for the other (white) customers and left me in an unfamiliar place before calling another one for me. It was confusing and honestly scary traveling alone. While surfing itself was enjoyable, I also noticed subtle bias in how attention and guidance were given. Nothing extreme, but definitely noticeable. Overall, the surf lesson was great — but the transportation experience and the way I was treated made me feel unwelcome and unsafe at times. I hope the school takes this feedback seriously so solo travelers, especially Black women, can feel supported and respected from start to finish.
