This is the way to go! - Ours was a family group of six, 4 adults (parents/grandparents) and two children, girls 5 and 7 from Texas. John was our excellent tour guide. The morning of our tour we went outside 15 minutes early to our prearranged meeting location and he was already waiting for us in a clean, spacious, comfortable van. He had a pristine, like-new car seat and booster for the girls (as we had requested) and bottled water for us all. John was attentive, knowledgeable and custom built our tour based on the make up of our family. He was extremely mindful of the wide span of ages in our group and added lots of fun and interesting stops to break up our trek. John intimately knew the area and all the back stories. He took amazing, scenic routes which made the drive time a pleasure. At the Cliffs of Moher he offered us an easy diversion activity at a nearby farm in the event the girls got tired or bored before our time there was up. That didn’t happen, but it was certainly nice to have that option. I would highly recommend this tour from Galway (especially if you have special group needs or interests) and let them customize your tour time to meet those needs. We loved the fact that we weren’t trapped on a bus and that no one in our group had to try to navigate the windy roads in a cramped rental. We also loved that we had the flexibility to make an unexpected stop if the kids got fidgety. It was priceless for us to all be able to sit back and simply enjoy the Irish countryside being in capable, competent hands. This is the way to go. Note: We used Viator twice during our trip to Ireland. I had never used them before so I was initially hesitant. You never know what you’re going to get. But BOTH events exceeded everyone in my family’s expectations. They were definitely high spots on our itinerary and I ended up a hero for making the bookings. (The other booking was the Irish Dance Party in Dublin in case you’re wondering.)

Cliffs of Moher - Absolutely breathtaking and worth the commitment of a very long day! Wind, rain, and fog on and off throughout the day all added to the experience! Also cute cafe at Cliffs of Moher to have lunch while visiting!

Amazing Full Day Trip to All Scenic Spots for our Stay at Galway - Had a fun filled day. Darius - our guide & chauffer was extremely well composed. We had a toddler with 6 folks and the vehicle was top notch, it was Merc mpv. Trip started from our pick up location at Fairview Road around 10:30 am and we came back around 7:30 pm. Had a lots of stop at photo spots across Wild atlantic Way, Burren, Doolin, Conamerra, Allwey Cave, Atleast 4 castle & couple of others photo pit stops, Abbey & Cliffs of Moher. Had our lunch at Burren College of Art, had excellent food there. Points of remember: When you make a booking, DM folks would ask you from where to pick so be a bit proactive and make sure your chauffer had all the necessary info ahead. Overall, 10/10 experience wirh loads of fun filled memories, the Cliffs were astounding and we had one of the clearest sunny day. Hope this helps & cheers!!

Day trip from Galway - Had a terrific time with friends. John our driver was very knowledgeable and polite. Highly recommended. Too much fog to actually see cliffs, but you can’t control the weather. We made the best of it . Was nice to leave and stop when we wanted.

Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. Would have been a five star with a guide who was more engaging. - The experience was average. The driver was punctual and communication prior to the tour was excellent. However, this felt more like we enlisted a driver rather than a tour guide. It was basically a pick up and drop off with stops along the way, and the driver was pleasant but terse. Again, some information about the sites during the drive would have been appreciated.

Allways get a contact number for your tour guide - Several times I emailed the tour guide to exchange a WhatsApp number or cell phone but did not receive a response as to the availability. Our tour was scheduled for 9 AM at the port where the tenders arrive. We arrived at 8:40 as past experience is the guides are ALWAYS early. (There was no enclosed area to wait at the Galway port.) At 9 AM, I emailed the tour guide and he arrived at 9:15 AM. He said that he encountered traffic. On several occasions, we asked for the guide to speak louder as he was difficult to understand due to a language barrier. He walked us to the Cliffs visitors center, showed us the bathroom, and didn't tell us that he was going back to the car park. We waited 10 minutes outside the visitor center for him to come out as we thought that he was still inside. Had we had a contact number, we could have contacted him saving us time. He did show us a few castles and an Abbey along the shore road. On the way back to the ship he received a call to pick up luggage in Dublin making it a rush to get us back to the ship at one point speeding which was a bit scary. Always get a contact number for the guide!
