• Kinvarra - This charming coastal village of Kinvarra is nestled against the stunning backdrop of Galway Bay. Once a bustling port, it has transformed into a picturesque fishing village. It is the perfect place to experience the tranquil rural lifestyle.

Visitors can admire Ireland’s largest thatched roof at the Merriman Hotel. Just north of Kinvarra, a 16th-century tower house awaits exploration. Dunguaire was purchased and restored in the early 20th century by Oliver St John Gogarty, a renowned surgeon and literary figure of his era. Many literary revivalists, part of the Irish literature movement, gathered here, including W.B. Yeats.

The story begins in a tropical sea near the equator, includes the formation of a major river delta, the movement and collision of continents, the expansion and contraction of the polar ice caps, and finally, the rain that sweeps in from the Atlantic.

The rocks that form the Burren were created during the Carboniferous period, between 359 and 299 million years ago. In the Burren, there are two primary rock types: the lighter-colored limestones to the north and east, and the darker siltstones, shales, and sandstones to the southwest. The limestones, which form the typical bare Burren landscape, were buried by the slightly younger siltstones and sandstones that make up the Cliffs of Moher.
