- Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge - Also known as Yongji Bridge or Panlong Bridge, the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge was constructed in 1916. It stands as the most remarkable among the wind and rain bridges found in Dong stockade villages. Currently, it is the largest of its kind and represents the pinnacle of Dong people’s architectural ingenuity; it is a treasured masterpiece of Chinese wooden architecture.
Sanjiang county: Nestled at the junction of Guangxi’s northern border with Hunan and Guizhou, Sanjiang Dong Minority Autonomous County is a two-hour drive northwest of Guilin. This autonomous area is predominantly inhabited by the Dong Ethnic Tribe, who make up more than half of the county’s population of 300,000.
Itinerary:
8:30–10:30: Travel from Guilin to Chengyang Dong village.
10:30–15:00: Explore the Dong village & Chengyang bridge and enjoy lunch in the village.
