A fascinating museum which brings recent history to life. You can’t help but feel the reality. - The huge hall, the walls of which were covered with maps and lengthy ladders to reach - were fascinating. The rooms looked as though the doors had been locked at the end of the war and only just reopened. Amazing detail. The Wrens’ Museum was an unexpected bonus.

Would recommend for anyone interested in the war. - Can't believe we never knew this existed, such a fascinating piece of history. Very well laid out with some personal accounts. Particularly like the information on the WRENS at the end

It's a long way to Tipperary! - Absolutely amazing. You can really feel the history of the place. The highlight for me was seeing Max Horton's office and his resting area that's both overlooking the planning room. He was known to be up constantly throughout the night, looking out his windows at the Atlantic map. If only them walls could talk eh. It was a genuine honour for me to share that space with such people of the past. We may exist in a different time but we've shared the same space. To be in them rooms was great fun. But also very humbling. I really enjoyed my visit.

A very interesting experience - A really interesting insight into the U-Boat threat and the vital work of Western Approaches Command during the war. Also very good displays highlighting the contributions and important work of the WRNS. Would have liked more information on the work of the Tactical Unit but hopefully that will come in the future.

Good WWII museum - This was a good museum that captures part of WWII that many don't know about. We were on a self guided WWII trip in England and this was a must see.

Neat. - A fine exhibit in the actual place where it happened. Reminiscent of the Churchill war rooms in London, it shows the various efforts taken to Eden’s Atlantic convoys and efforts during World War II.. What you can and can not touch is a bit muddied, but a great experience nonetheless.

Worth a visit - Not a huge amount to see but the content was interesting and the Battle of the Atlantic needs to be remembered for its importance

As close to time travel as you can get. Always very special to visit the unchanged places where it really all happened. - After another disappointing visit to Goodison Park I needed to cheer myself up with some WW2 time. Fantastic to see the main chart room from where the battle of the Atlantic was controlled, a place of huge historical significance which is on a par with the superlative BoB bunker at Uxbridge and Churchill War Rooms. I did feel however that there should be more detailed information on the war against the u boats showing the periods of success and defeat and how new tactics and weaponry enabled the Allies to win, The IWM London does this well. The WHW podcast No 275 gives a lot of info that the visitor here doesn’t get. Overall a very enjoyable visit but I feel that the museum could be developed and publicised further as a must visit location for anyone with an interest in WW2.

Immersive! Forget Churchill’s war rooms ! - Wow. So pleasantly surprised by this museum. Some very interesting displays. Did not realise this was the actual site of the signals and planning, etc… Forget Churchill’s war rooms, this museum offers much greater access and immersion. Also, lots of displays re women and the WREN. Really worth a look!
