Pick-up and Transfer
The Walking Safari Experience begins early with a pick-up from your Lodge or Hotel, followed by a transfer to the Park, which takes about 15-20 minutes. An early start is essential to avoid the heat, which can increase rapidly.

It is crucial to wear appropriate walking shoes, hats, and bush-friendly clothing. Upon arrival at the Park Gate, an escort Scout will be arranged to accompany the group, and a short drive will lead to the starting point of the Walk.

Starting the Walk
While enjoying a cup of tea or coffee with a fresh muffin, the Guide will provide a comprehensive briefing on what to expect, how to maximize the experience, and the essential Do’s and Don’ts during the walk.

The Walking Safari
The Walking Safari lasts approximately three hours. Much of this time is spent quietly observing wildlife and engaging in discussions with the Guide. The pace is leisurely, set by the group, allowing for frequent stops to ask questions and explore areas of interest.

The Guide will locate the White Rhino and track as much large game as possible. Cold water is provided during the Walk, and halfway through, the Guide will pause at a suitable spot for refreshments, including homemade iced lemon juice with cake and cookies to boost energy levels.

At the conclusion of the Walk, the transfer vehicle will meet the group at a predetermined location, where an ice-cold soft drink will be available. After enjoying the cold drinks, you will be transferred back to your Lodge/Hotel. The entire excursion lasts between four and four and a half hours.

Group Size
The maximum group size is EIGHT. Two groups may walk simultaneously but separately, each accompanied by an armed Escort Scout provided by the Zambia Wildlife Authority. The group size and number of groups are designed to minimize the impact on the animals and environment. The Escort Scout ensures the safety of clients from potentially dangerous animals.

The Pick-up and transfer –
Your exploration on foot begins with a convenient pick-up early in the morning from your accommodation, followed by a brief 15-20 minute journey to the Park. An early departure is crucial to sidestep the midday heat, which intensifies rapidly.

Ensure you’re properly equipped with appropriate footwear, headgear, and attire suitable for the bush. Upon reaching the Park entrance, we will arrange for an armed Scout to escort your group and then proceed with a brief drive to the starting point of the walk.
The Guide will endeavor to locate the White Rhino and observe as much wildlife as feasible. Refreshing cool water is provided throughout the walk, and at the midway point, the Guide will pause at a convenient location to offer refreshments. These include homemade iced lemon juice accompanied by cake and cookies to replenish your vigor.
