Amazing safari experience - Impeccable organization, the pickup was on time from the Avani Livingstone and it took us almost an hour to get to the Botswana border. The drive was very comfortable. Crossing at the border was fast, but if you have young children or teens with you, the Botswana authorities are strict and require that you bring a birth certificate, plus if you are a solo parent traveling you also have to have written official parental consent from the other parent, saying your child can enter and exit Botswana!!! They can be very sticky and deny you access, so be prepared. The game drive in the Chobe natural park was amazing, and even though we hadn’t seen many animals in the first hour (probably due to the dry season), we were lucky enough to get really close and see a full pride of Lions ( about 12) feasting on a baby elephant. After the morning game drive we had lunch at the Cresta Mowana lodge, with a big buffet and excellent very varied buffet food. They have a beautiful curio shop with gorgeous Botswana artifacts at decent prices. From there we started the afternoon cruise on the Chobe river where we saw loads of elephants, crocodiles, baboons and also hippos, eagles. The drive back to the Avani was also really comfortable and the whole experience lasted for about 11 hours. This safari is very well worth it even if it seems expensive. Ps. Cherish travel and tours (the company we booked with) is a truly reliable company, with whom we booked so many activities and transports, including from and to the airport, all of which were well organized and always perfectly in time!!

A wonderful wildlife experience, with professional service - We used Cherish Tours to book several tours and activities while we were in Livingstone. The Chobe Day trip was excellent, pick up and border formalities were super quick and efficient. Chobe itself was a fantastic reserve, we got see a great deal of elephant, buffalo, crocodiles, and a myriad of other wildlife. Getting to view the animals on a game drive and a boat trip was a great experience. All the guides and rangers were super friendly and very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the fauna and flora we saw. The lunch was also tasty in a lovely setting. I highly recommend this tour as well as the other tours on offer by Cherish Tours. A very professional team.

Highly recommend - Well-organised trip and seamless transition between Zambia and Botswana. Enjoyable safari for both the game drive and river safari.

Excellent - Very good trip, saw most of the animals except leopards. The water safari is also unique. Lunch was also impressive, with lots of choice and high quality.

Lovely park but pick a different tour operator. - The park was wonderful. The boat tour was fun. The boat was slow and crowded but the captain did his best to find and show wildlife. The driving tour was disappointing. Billed as 3 hours the driver said the time to and from the border counted as part of the three hours. He didn't act as a guide, he only drove. We expected some discussion about the park and the animals and got nothing. He seemed annoyed to be with us.

Unmissable if you are nearby - Simple reservation on the internet. An 8-seater car picks you up from your hotel at 7 a.m. towards the border with Botswana. Then transfer to an 8-seater 4x4 towards the park. In the morning 3 hours of safari in 4x4. Lots of animals and especially elephants along the river but also Kudus, waterbucks, buffaloes, crocodiles, giraffes, impalas, zebras... but unfortunately no felines. Lunch in a fairly decent buffet restaurant but nothing more. then in the afternoon, a very pleasant boat safari with lots of buffalo, elephants and hippos. Then return to the hotel around 6:30 p.m. in the same way as you went.

We never made it to Chobe :( - This should have been a wonderful trip because I hear that Chobe is fantastic. We didn't get past the Botswana border though because I did not have a copy of my daughter's birth certificate. This was in the instructions and I should have been more prepared, but the driver knew this when he picked us up and should have left us at the hotel or given us a few minutes to try and deal with the situation (while we still had Wi-Fi) instead of taking us all the way to the border and wasting our morning. We did receive a partial refund from the tour operator.

Amazing experience with animals, but not customer service - I would use a different company but still do the full day safari if possible. Our tour started off great- the first driver was wonderful and accommodating. The boat portion was spectacular and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and warm. The lunch was good, but be prepared to pay for water, soda or wine. The hotel had a charging station free of charge at reception for phones that drained during the water portion. The driven safari was great for game viewing, but the driver didn’t bring enough drinks and didn’t provide much information about the animals. We were very thirsty by the time we returned to the Zambia side, and my children and I had no driver to pick us up, as was arranged. I asked around, and one driver agreed to return us for no fee, but then we were passed over to another driver, who ultimately drove us back. Although many of the tour operators help one another out, it was an unnecessary hiccup when traveling with an 11 and 14 year old, and we were all exhausted and thirsty. I messaged the tour operator after to let them know that we didn’t have a ride, and to check on the refund that we were told would be given because one person in our party could not go, but they never responded to my message. Animals we saw: hippos, elephants, giraffe, birds, crocs, water buffalo, water monitor, baboons, African fishing eagle, impalas, and tigers. The white rhino is a separate tour (saw elephants, impala, zebra, and giraffes on that one too, but it was not as spectacular). The ride is bumpy, so be prepared for that. We saw a jeep that was getting unstuck from the sand. It’s also dusty. Some people wore bandannas. Bring sunscreen for your face/arms. TLDR; the full day is wonderful, but don’t expect great customer service outside of the water tour.
