The hotel pick ups commence at around 07:00am, with guests being driven from Livingstone to Kazungula, a journey of about an hour, to a one-stop border crossing. Here, you’ll complete your passport protocols for both Zambia and Botswana right after traversing the newly built Kazungula bridge. A guide from Botswana will be ready to meet you there, from whence you’ll drive to our Botswana office for a brief rundown of the day’s activities.
Depending on the guides’ decision, you’ll either begin with a game drive, proceed to lunch, and then end with a river safari cruise, or you’ll follow the schedule in reverse order.
The park is home to numerous animal species including the African painted dog, blue wildebeest, Cape buffalo, civet, crocodile, giraffe, hippopotamus, hyena, leopard, lion, puku (an antelope species classed as Near Threatened), savanna elephant, tseessebe, zebra, among others.
- Kindly be advised to get a Kaza Uni-Visa, tThe Uni-Visa will allow tourists to travel freely between Zimbabwe and Zambia, within a 30 day period from the date of their first entry. This same Visa will also allow those who go out to visit Botswana for a day trip come back into either countries without paying for any extra visa fees. Uni-Visa fee is pegged at $50pp, payable at the first port of entry and is valid for 30 days. Please be encouraged to try and bring cash for the visa payment in the event that the credit card machines are not working at the time of arrival

Unforgettable Chobe Full Day Trip – Highly Recommend! - Cherish Travel and Tours organized an absolutely fantastic Chobe Full Day Trip! The tour included a half-day game drive and a half-day river cruise, with a nice lunch break at a nearby lodge in between. The entire experience was seamless and exceeded my expectations.
The river cruise was my personal favorite, offering incredible views of wildlife--especially hippos and crocodiles. The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights about the animals and ecosystems we encountered. Over the course of the day, I was thrilled to see a wide variety of wildlife, including many elephants, several antelope species, a couple lions, hippos, buffalo, and even a leopard!
The organization was flawless from start to finish. My driver, Mwangelwa, picked me up promptly at 7am from my hotel in Livingstone and made the border crossing and immigration process between Zambia and Botswana effortless. Mwangelwa was not only professional but also very personable, making the drive enjoyable with engaging conversation.
I highly recommend Cherish Travel and Tours for their excellent planning and the unforgettable experiences they provide. This tour is a must-do for anyone seeking a one-day safari experience to Chobe from Livingstone or elsewhere in the area!

So Much & We Got Up Close! - Prompt pick up (he was actually early!) And the most friendly guides all day for this trip. On the Game Drive, we saw so much - elephants, hippos, impala, giraffe ... But my fave for this one was getting up close to mother lion. Amazing. But then the boat trip was even better - all kinds of birds, crocs, monkeys and hippos but really up close this time! Again - the guides from XHERISH TRAVEL are the BEST! Very informative, friendly and relaxed. I had a great time.

A very good safari experience with lots of amazing animals - A very good safari trip to Chobe including a game drive, a river cruise in a small boat and a buffet. Everything worked smoothly, we had a nice guide and we got to see lots of animals, some of the big five and more importantly some of the ugly five (marabus were great). We saw crocodiles, elephants, lions, hippos, buffalos and many other. It was our first safari ever and a very good experience!

A Day in Botswana - Well organized, half a day riding a jeep, half a day on a boat, a lot of animals and birds looked at, wish we had seen the lions.

Amazing safari experience - Impeccable organization, the pickup was on time from the Avani Livingstone and it took us almost an hour to get to the Botswana border. The drive was very comfortable. Crossing at the border was fast, but if you have young children or teens with you, the Botswana authorities are strict and require that you bring a birth certificate, plus if you are a solo parent traveling you also have to have written official parental consent from the other parent, saying your child can enter and exit Botswana!!! They can be very sticky and deny you access, so be prepared.
The game drive in the Chobe natural park was amazing, and even though we hadn’t seen many animals in the first hour (probably due to the dry season), we were lucky enough to get really close and see a full pride of Lions ( about 12) feasting on a baby elephant.
After the morning game drive we had lunch at the Cresta Mowana lodge, with a big buffet and excellent very varied buffet food. They have a beautiful curio shop with gorgeous Botswana artifacts at decent prices.
From there we started the afternoon cruise on the Chobe river where we saw loads of elephants, crocodiles, baboons and also hippos, eagles. The drive back to the Avani was also really comfortable and the whole experience lasted for about 11 hours.
This safari is very well worth it even if it seems expensive.
Ps. Cherish travel and tours (the company we booked with) is a truly reliable company, with whom we booked so many activities and transports, including from and to the airport, all of which were well organized and always perfectly in time!!

A wonderful wildlife experience, with professional service - We used Cherish Tours to book several tours and activities while we were in Livingstone. The Chobe Day trip was excellent, pick up and border formalities were super quick and efficient. Chobe itself was a fantastic reserve, we got see a great deal of elephant, buffalo, crocodiles, and a myriad of other wildlife. Getting to view the animals on a game drive and a boat trip was a great experience. All the guides and rangers were super friendly and very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the fauna and flora we saw. The lunch was also tasty in a lovely setting. I highly recommend this tour as well as the other tours on offer by Cherish Tours. A very professional team.

Worth it! - Great trip. Wildlife, lunch, and boat tour provided a great experience for viewing wildlife. Very little time is lost crossing borders.

A worthwhile excursion - Got to see pretty much everything I expected to apart from the predators, but we had been warned they were more active later on. Particularly enjoyed the boat trip, you get swarmed at times by flies in the jeep and the ride can get very bumpy. Overall a worthwhile excursion.

Good but could be better. - Border crossings were easy. River cruise portion, though it was hot, allowed the close up viewing of many different animals. Lunch was good, with a nice variety. The land portion allowed viewing of elephants and lions, but it appeared as the driver was just going the motions.

We never made it to Chobe :( - This should have been a wonderful trip because I hear that Chobe is fantastic. We didn't get past the Botswana border though because I did not have a copy of my daughter's birth certificate. This was in the instructions and I should have been more prepared, but the driver knew this when he picked us up and should have left us at the hotel or given us a few minutes to try and deal with the situation (while we still had Wi-Fi) instead of taking us all the way to the border and wasting our morning. We did receive a partial refund from the tour operator.
