The service begins at the port of Livorno, where the driver will be waiting with a sign displaying your name for easy identification. After exchanging greetings and introductions, you will board the minivan for a trip to the city of Pisa. The transfer from the port to Pisa takes approximately 30 minutes, as it is only 20 kilometers away. The first stop will be a visit to the Church of San Piero Grado, a beautiful tenth-century monument located just outside the city. Following this, the driver will take you to Pisa, where you will explore the city center with a stop at Piazza Dei Cavalieri, one of the most stunning squares in the city. Here, you can admire Palazzo dei Cavalieri, which was once the headquarters of the Knights of Santo Stefano and is now part of the University of Pisa’s School Normale Superiore. The next stop will be Piazza dei Miracoli, where you can marvel at the famous Leaning Tower, the cathedral, and the baptistery.
You will depart Pisa for Lucca around 12 noon. Lucca is one of the most captivating Tuscan cities, completely surrounded by 17th-century walls. It is a small, tranquil town rich in monuments and history. Beyond its walls, Lucca is notable for its numerous churches. The visit to Lucca begins with a quick tour of the center, where the driver will point out the main attractions, which you will then explore on foot, as parking is prohibited in the narrow streets of the center. Key sites in Lucca include the main street, the churches of San Frediano and San Michele, the square of the amphitheater (an ancient Roman amphitheater now a square with various cafes and restaurants ideal for lunch), and a walk on the city walls.
Another site, about 20 minutes from the center, is the Devil’s Bridge, a fascinating tenth-century bridge that draws thousands of visitors each year. The return journey is scheduled after visiting the bridge and takes about 1 hour.
