Following our gathering at the vessel, our journey will take us to the Caves of Carrara!!! Here, you’ll witness the majestic charm of the globally renowned Carrara Marble and get to explore the quarry! Afterward, our drive continues to Pietrasanta…
This coastal municipality in northern Tuscany, Italy under the province of Lucca, happens to be a part of Versilia, nestled on the lower slopes of the Apuan Alps.
Pietrasanta is rooted in Roman history with a part of the Roman wall still standing.
In 1255, Luca Guiscardo da Pietrasanta used the existing Lombards’ ‘Rocca di Sala’ fortress to establish the medieval town, which is how the town got its name. It was once under the Genoese Republic (1316–1328).
Our adventure will lead us to Pisa, universally known for the famous tilted Leaning Tower (though, it’s not the only one!). Following a visit to the Piazza dei Cavalieri, we will make our way back to the port.
