• Koper - Our visit begins at daybreak, with the arrival at KOPER - the town, dating back to the early thirteenth century and famous for its historic character and local wine. You can admire the houses leaning one against the other and stroll along the narrow streets and sheltered paths.
• Izola - IZOLA - an old fishing village with rich history. The Latin name for island is ‘isola’ and Izola used to be an island that was connected to the mainland by a stony bridge. Established by refugees from Aquileia in the 7th century, the town was once surrounded by a wall, which was pulled down at the beginning of the 19th century, the material used to cover the sea between the island and mainland.
• Strunjan - Then, we reach STRUNJAN by walking along the famous “Strunjan Clif” and above the “Moon Bay” a romantic and evocative walk known from the rocks falling sheer into the sea. Strunjan is a charming old salt-making village, located between the magnificent Venetian old town of Piran and the charming old fishing town of Izola. It lies in a bay of the same name. Much of this area is a nature reserve that lies along a 4 km stretch of Adriatic coast to the north of the village.
• Piran - Our journey continues to PIRAN, an ancient fishing town considered “The Pearl of The Slovene Riviera”, where you will be awed by its enchanting Venetian architecture. Here you will have free time to plunge into the crystal sea and sunbathe, before proceeding to PORTOROZ, a seaside town surrounding a small natural bay.

A Day at the Slovenian Coastline.

The Slovenian Coastline is home to five quaint seaside villages, namely Piran, Koper, Izola, Strunjan, and Portoroz, all nestled in the coastal area of Slovenia. Despite not being part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, they hold a certain enchanting allure that possibly surpasses that of their more famous counterparts.

These coastal gems are celebrated for their scenic views, historical significance, hiking and biking paths, fishing vessels floating on the sea, and pristine waters. The ideal time for sea enthusiasts to visit the Slovenian Coastline ranges from mid-May through mid-September. However, for hiking and biking enthusiasts, the season begins a tad earlier, from mid-March extending to mid-October. Moreover, the region is a paradise for gastronomes and wine aficionados. The seafood is fresh and delightful, and the wines exquisite, promising to gratify even the most discerning of palates. Do make it a point to savour the gourmet offerings of these towns and unwind over a scrumptious meal.
