Interesting in many ways - Such an interesting and varied tour. This is not a palace tour like one might have in Florence or Vienna but rather a tour of a castle that had multiple lives over the years. It was interesting to hear about its transition over the years, including through the Habsburg years and then after WWI. After falling into quite some disrepair, it has been significantly restored while retaining its historical charm and feeling even while hosting a quite modern interior structure that seems to be holding up the building while providing access to its various corners. Do get the audio tour as this is a complicated building to follow, with rooms not being one after the other but rather scattered around the central courtyard in unconnected areas. There was a puppet exhibition going on while we were there, which was interesting but has nothing to do with the castle itself. Interesting sociology perhaps, but something of a deviation from the rest of the time in the castle.

Beautiful castle - A beautiful castle on a small hill above the city itself, from where there is a wonderful view of Ljubljana and the surrounding mountains. It is worth a visit to feel the breath of a bygone era and how people lived in the past.

City center and palace. - Very welcoming city, very beautiful, easy to visit (the historic center is relatively small). It is worth visiting the palace.

Beautiful view. - Castle overlooking the city, very nice, useful zip line for climbing. Not recommended to walk back in the hairpin bends under the castle. To visit absolutely.

Chapel of the Castle - We decided to go up to the castle visiting only the free part. That's why we went into the chapel of the castle where there was a very kind man who asked my daughter the name then prepared cards with very nice writing is a real artist but above all a beautiful person spoke to my daughter about his future of life excited us

Lossable - With the funicular you arrive quickly but together with the ticket for the castle you spend about 16.5 euros. The audio guide (not recommended) magnifies what little there is to see. The return better do it on foot even if the road is a bit steep

Disappointing, if you are looking for an authentic historical experience - We were excited to visit the castle but, apart from the wonderful views over the old town and beyond, we found the castle itself disappointing. It has been heavily restored to the point that a lot of the authenticity you expect from a medieval fortress has been lost. There are a couple of museums and several restaurants, plus a lot of contemporary concrete and steel architecture that I would have loved in a different context, but here I felt that it was over-designed and detracted from the original historical structures. Note: you don't actually need an entrance ticket for the castle complex - only to access the museums - so if you are only there for quick look at the view, or are unsure whether you actually want to go into the museums, don't bother paying the entrance fee!

Interesting castle with views and restaurants. - Fun some good views but not the best. Very cleaned up and more restaurants than exhibits. Parking at the top was helpful and convenient for gaining access.

Nice views - It can be entertaining to go up to the castle by funicular, walk around the castle and walk down. From the castle there are good views of the city, but it is not especially pretty. I find it an ā€œexpendableā€ visit in the city

Iā€™ll never use this website again - Bad experience I paid extra for tickets on line thru this company so I wouldnā€™t have to stand in a long line to get tickets. Unfortunately, I had to stand in a long line with people who had not purchased tickets just to ā€œredeemā€ my voucher. They didnā€™t email me a ticket, they emailed me a ā€œvoucherā€ that had to be ā€œredeemedā€. Itā€™s a rip off. Iā€™ll never use this website again.
