Are you a fan of pristine lakes and untouched natural beauty? If so, this is the journey for you!
Experience the enchanting alpine lakes of Bled and Bohinj on a day trip, revealing the alluring aspects of Slovenia’s Alpine region. Combining a stroll around Lake Bled with a traditional “pletna” boat ride to tiny Bled Island allows you to appreciate the stunning landscape and the urban aura. Take in the sight of the Bled Castle, precariously perched on a cliff above the lake, and once on top, indulge in Slovenia’s renowned dessert, the “Kremsnita” (vanilla cream cake) or the delicious ‘potica’ nut cake while sipping a cup of coffee. Be captivated by the splendour of Vintgar Gorge, where a timber trail escorts you through an alluring gorge, with the energetic Radovna River and striking vertical rock formations. In Bohinj, be enveloped by towering mountains reflecting off the Bohinj lake and get a taste of the serene rhythm of life in small alpine villages like Ribicev Laz and Ukanc.
This day expedition brings you to Lake Bled, a hot favourite amongst visitors to Slovenia. Be enthralled by panoramic views of the lake from Bled castle, one of Slovenia’s ancient fortresses, and from the conventional ‘pletna’ boat, your transport to the scenic island in Lake Bled. Close to Bled lies the Pokljuka plateau, housing stunning forests that form part of the Triglav National Park, which extends all the way to Bohinj Lake, concealed in the core of the Julian Alps. Pokljuka is also recognized for its Biathlon Centre, winter training ground for some of our top athletes. Wander around Bohinj Lake to understand why Slovenians consider it the treasure of the Julian Alps. Bohinj, the largest and most attractive alpine lake in Slovenia, is hailed as the most beautiful location in the country. A hub for eco- tourism and outdoor adventures, situated in Triglav National Park, Bohinj will leave you awestruck with its pure beauty, tranquillity, and a resolve to revisit.
You’ll also explore the Bled Vintgar Gorge, deeply incised into the limestone by the Radovna River. Follow a 1.6 km pathway teeming with bridges and galleries, providing dynamic views of the impressive gorge scenery.
