Postojna Cave - The Pivka River has been sculpting the Postojna Cave for 2 million years. Over time, the water level has fluctuated, creating a stunning “multi-level” subterranean world adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, columns, curtains, and other magnificent formations as the water deposited layers of limestone.
The cave’s first visitors are believed to have arrived as early as the 13th century, but the most beautiful sections were discovered in 1818. You’ll enter the cave by train, with the ride lasting about 10 minutes, followed by a guided walking tour. Wander beneath the delicate, transparent tubes hanging from the ceiling in the Hall of Tubes.
From beneath the Russian Bridge, you’ll reach The Concert Hall, where you can marvel at the stunning white Brilliant – a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Despite the darkness, around 100 animal species inhabit the cave! The main attraction is the proteus, initially mistaken for a baby dragon.
- Predjama Castle - Before your visit, relax on the terrace of the country inn in front of the imposing, enigmatic Predjama Castle, built into a rock, and enjoy its breathtaking views. The castle is designed as an impregnable fortress, situated in the gaping mouth of a cavern halfway up a 123 m cliff. The castle boasts remarkable features – holes in the ceiling of the entrance tower for pouring boiling oil on intruders, deep and damp dungeons, and a mysterious hiding place at the top called Erazem’s Nook.
After a delightful half-day experience, the tour will return to Ljubljana.
Drop-off will be at the same location as pick-up.

Slovenia has its own version of Robin Hood, not just England: Erazem of Predjama Castle was a defiant “robber baron,” looting the wealthy to distribute to the destitute. Discover the unassailable Predjama Castle that majestically resides atop a sheer cliff.
