Additional Information

Explore the charm of the Slovenian coastline and the Karst region. Our first destination is the UNESCO acknowledged Skocjan Caves, one of the biggest and most mesmerizing Karst landscapes in Europe, boasting the Reka River flowing 200m beneath the surface. We then visit a local tavern where you can sample the renowned Karst air-cured ham, served with Teran - a local wine, exclusive to the Karst region. We make a brief visit to Lipica, the cradle of the white Lipizzaner horse. We traverse the coastal towns of Koper, Izola and Portoroz, culminating in everyone’s cherished place on the Slovenian coast – Piran. Here, you can wander in its medieval narrow lanes and houses, enjoying some leisure time.

Our final stop is Predjama Castle en route to Ljubljana. Learn about the secrets of the largest cave castle (recognized by Guinnes World Records!), set on a 123-meter high cliff, and discover the story of the local legend, the knight Erazem, often referred to as the Robin Hood of the area.

We return to Lujbljana during the early evening.

Memorable - This tour was great - loved the stop at the caves, they were breath taking. The stop in Piran was long enough to have an explore & eat yummy sea food. We opted to miss the tasting stop in order to get more time in Piran which was the right decision, as I still felt like a little more time in Piran would have been nice! However, it still felt satisfying. Loved the stop to see the horses and to learn a bit about them. Our guide was amazing, funny, knowledgable & the van was comfortable and clean :)

Amazing experience for great value! - I usually don’t do tours but THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE! With the transportation in Slovenia, it’s a little tough to get around if you’re leaving the city. The transport in itself to these places all day was worth it, but to do so in great company AND learn sooo much great info? Would definitely do more tours with this company. Certainly recommend.

Enjoyable and relaxed tour - The tour was very enjoyable. Clement(?) was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who told us lots of background and stories about Slovenia and the places we visited. The timing of everything was also good - we went on a guided tour of the caves, tried the prosciutto and teran wine, had 2.5 hours to enjoy Piran, stopped by Predjama castle for photos (we didn't go in), and made it back to Ljubljana just before 7pm. However, we were told that traffic is much worse in Summer, so that may affect how relaxed the tour feels.

Good - Really enjoyed the trip. Very convenient if you are short on time and a solo traveller. It's a guided tour with lots of information about the region. The guide was very friendly and informative.

Excellent tour - The caves, Piran and the caste on the rock. Driver-guide was very good and friendly. The fact that we were a small group of only 4 helped

Viewpoints that will leave you breathless literally and metaphorically - Totally worth a visit. Skocjan Caves is nature at its best is indeed a unique treasure. With the tour you have enough time to see most of the area. Lipica it's a very short visit. Through request you can spend more time but there is no time then to visit Piran. Don't worry tour guide will help you decide what is the best time management to see everything.

Unique independent tour of beautiful places - I saw both famous caves, so I will will compare a bit. The skocjan caves are CAVERNOUS. Just awe-inspiring in their size, though less "decorated" with stalagmites and stalactites than postojna. They will tell you there are 500 steps you have to take in the cave, but this includes steps down so it's not as scary as it sounds. The stop at the horse farm was perfect - just long enough to see the horses, snap a few pictures, and go. Piran was a cute town. Easy to walk around in an hour or so, then have a leisurely lunch on the water. I really felt like I was in Italy instead of Slovenia! Finally, there was a quick stop at Predjama castle on the way back, just a picture stop. I would say this is a shame, as the castle is really worth going into, but there wouldn't be enough time on this tour. For me, personally, though I enjoyed the trip, if you have limited time in Slovenia, it was my least favorite tour. Not to say it wasn't good, just not my favorite.

No shuttle to ƠKocjan caves - There is no bus or shuttle from Divaca to the caves. We started to walk (an hour) but Google maps took us along a motorway with no foot path so that was impossible. 4 trains and a wasted day. We had prepaid our ticket. The caves may be amazing but don’t go unless you are driving. Also don’t believe everything that is on here (my fault, should have double check elsewhere).
