- Osorno - Departing early from your stay in Puerto Varas, the journey leads directly to the base of the majestic Osorno Volcano, which stands at 2,652 meters. The first stop is the CONAF office to prepare and commence the ascent from 1,200 meters above sea level. The trek will take at least 3 hours to reach the point where full equipment will be donned, followed by an informative technical briefing to begin the journey to the Glacier Seracs. After approximately 1 hour, upon arrival, there will be time to rest and admire the impressive ice blocks, listen to the subterranean creaks, and possibly witness glacier landslides. After enjoying this stunning view, the return will follow the same path until reaching the point to unequip and start the descent back to the transport that will return to Puerto Varas.
IMPORTANT: The ascent is approximately 3.5 km (about 7 km round trip). The route begins with stone and volcanic sand, transitioning to snow and ice in summer, and remains icy and snowy in winter.
