- Quang Tri - Horror Highway (The Street of Horror) – May 1, 1972, is a date forever etched in the memories of the people in Quang Tri and Thua Thien provinces. It is remembered not for International Labor Day, but for the horrific carnage on Vietnam Highway 1, about ten kilometers south of Quang Tri City. Thousands of civilians, mostly the elderly, women, children, and numerous soldiers, were killed by artillery and infantry weapons during hours of relentless shooting.
- Nhà thờ Long Hưng (Long Hung Church - War Damaged Historic Relic) - Long Hung Church stands as a symbol of the resilience and bravery displayed against American and South Vietnamese forces. For 81 days, the North Vietnamese held the church while facing machine gun fire, grenades, and even shells from warships.
- Bến Hải River - Doc Mieu Firebase, located 8km south of the Ben Hai River and just off Highway 1, was a former American base and part of ‘the McNamara Line’. It has been extensively scavenged by scrap-metal collectors and recently by American veteran groups searching for MIAs (missing in action). Most of the remains unearthed in recent years have been those of Vietnamese.
- Hien Luong - Hien Luong Bridge – The original Hien Luong Bridge was destroyed by American bombing in 1967. At that time, it was painted half red and half yellow, serving as a vivid reminder of the physical and ideological boundary separating the two zones of Vietnam.
- Vinh Moc Tunnel - The Vinh Moc Tunnels were constructed on three levels at depths of 10, 15, and 20-23 meters, with good ventilation, freshwater wells, and eventually a generator and lights. This underground village was also equipped with a school, clinics, and a maternity room where 17 children were born. Each family was allocated a tiny cavern, barely larger than a single bed. These tunnels were built taller than the Cu Chi Tunnels.
